"Relatives of people who died in military service have recounted varied interactions with President Donald Trump in the difficult days and weeks after their loved one's death. Despite Trump's boast that he reaches out personally to all families of the fallen, interviews with families members did not support his claim. Some never heard from him at all, and a few who did came away more upset.
The Associated Press reached out to the families of all 43 people who have died in military service since Trump became president and made contact with about half the families. Of those who would address the question, relatives of nine said they had heard from Trump by phone or mail. Relatives of nine others said they haven't."
Here's the thing if you really read the article you will see that one mom when asked if she wanted Trump to contact her she said "not really". Which happened prior to Trump taking office.
Another one heard from Pence instead of Trump. The casualty officer was wrong in telling them they would hear from Trump. One stated that the White House attempted to set up a time for a call and the widow said that "it fell through". One was brought up earlier in this thread and I debunked it because he was married. Wives are usually the first ones to know if their husbands are KIA.
Shame on the Demonic Rats for politicizing the death of a soldier
Yes, I highly question the policy of us being in the rat infested African continent that Obama backed for 8 years and I hope Trump pulls out of that craphole.
So far, Trump has been the best President in decades...he'll get us out of that POS country.
You are being disingenuous. Trump tried to ride the backs of dead soldiers by lying about past presidents’ responses to gold star families. Then he tried to stand on the dead son of General Kelly to cover his lie.
That shame you feel? It should be directed toward Trump.
Perhaps Gen. Kelly offered the info to Trump? They do see each other every day and how would Trump know unless they talked about it? Obama invited Gen. Kelly to a Gold Star family dinner a year after his son's death - guess he wasn't in a hurry to contact him.
"The job you signed up for is not easy. It can mean long shifts and late nights. It demands focus, and determination, and great bravery in the face of unknown dangers. When you run into that building or chase down that suspect, you will be risking your own life in order to protect the lives of men and women you have never met, and some that you may never know.
But you knew all that when you joined the academy. You knew the risks involved, you knew the sacrifices required, and yet you stood up and said, ‘I’ll take that risk. I’ll make that sacrifice. I will do that job."
President Obama
Speech regarding police deaths made to a large group of people--not a condolence call to a pregnant widow.

The job of the police is not really to defend freedoms.
So Trump lifts Obama's words and Melania lifts Michelle's.
