Your first sentence is very true. However, even moderates and independents catch the irony of having a rich white guy give the rebuttal speech and represent the party that claims rich white guys are evil.
If the Democrats want to win anything in 2020, they are going to need those moderates and independents to vote for their candidate. There is absolutely zero chance of a Democrat winning without them, especially if the economy continues to improve.
We'll see, won't we?
FDR was a rich white guy and he didn't sell out the working class.
Moderates and Independents can vote for the party playing footsie with Putin if they want. There's no stopping stupid.
The left is saying that this was a failure because Joe is too moderate and he's a "privileged white man". See, this is the problem with the left they have lost control of their base and if they were to elected someone who represents them; redistributing wealth by race, socializing vast parts of our economy, limiting free speech, taking away guns. It would be wildly unpopular with 75% of the country and if enacted would crash our economy and create social chaos.
Yeah there's no place for whites and white leadership in the democrat party. They should just come over to the inclusive republican party, people of color too.

NO, it's the RIGHT who is saying this is the way the Left should be thinking about Kennedy. Thanks for the 'help' but we are capable of making up our own minds about the guy.

yep, exactly. I have no idea why, but the righties on C-D delight in telling us lefties what we think. Of course they get it wrong every time, but it is so amusing to watch them say such silly things.

Here's "silly righty" Michael Moore saying it:
“As we seek to rid ourselves of Trump, we must also cleanse our American soul of its white male privilege, its voracious greed,” Moore said in his address at the so-called People’s State of the Union prior to Trump’s speech Tuesday night.
Joe Kennedy's response speech = chapstickoquiddick.
Earning him the name Sloppy Joe.
I thought we were trying to get away from political dynasties.
