If only in memory of poor Pebbles, this deserves the respect of a serious thread.
Dutifully clicked on the Miami Herald link that provides much more information, making the girl actually sound a tad more sympathetic. A tad ...
A college student from Pennsylvania with no local friends in B'more to come out to the airport to fetch Sammy ... she (and Spirit) rebooked on a later flight as she struggled with what to do with Pebbles ... Pebbles came on the scene that fall as she dealt with a cancer scare (growth on throat that proved benign).
BUT there was no immediate need to be in Miami by a specific time for medical attention. She only "hoped" to have the growth removed while home for the holiday. And this was THANKSGIVING. Surgeons on call?
As for Greyhound, the complaint in the Miami Herald was that a bus would have taken DAYS.
A quick check of the schedule shows it to be only an overnight trip with several buses leaving a day - plus she'd already spent several hours at the airport after rebooking that initial flight.
I call foul.
Pebbles was sacrificed because she didn't want to spend the night on a bus.
Heck, these days Greyhound even comes with WiFi with seats far more comfy than those at the airport or on Spirit itself.
"On the other hand, in contrast to findings in the Syrian hamster, hepatic tumors were relatively common in normal and especially in estrogen-treated Turkish hamsters. Therefore, although they are closely related, these two Mesocricetus hamster species have markedly dissimilar responses to sex hormones."
That is just awful. Flushing your pet down the toilet. That is one messed up woman.
She could have changed her flight, taken the hamster home and come back later.
Absolutely; what a fake and a fraud. That wasn't an emotional support animal; she certainly wasn't emotionally attached.
