He didn't get kicked out for his opinion.

Did you read the report behind the picture? Refusal to stop talking out of turn? Angry outbursts? Accusing the professor of grading him low in the future bc they disagreed on this idea?

They read what they want, and understand what they want.

Truth is not relevant -- perception is everything.

Your poll interestingly leaves out the option of supporting the professor for kicking out a student that was acting inappropriately -- as stated in the disciplinary accusations.

Funny how that happened?

It appears that there are only two genders. From the dictionary:

gen·der

[ˈjendər]

NOUN

  1. either of the two sexes (male and female), especially when considered with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones. The term is also used more broadly to denote a range of identities that do not correspond to established ideas of male and female.

From the article the professor is a sexist bigot that was presenting hate-filled material in class attacking a minority group. There is no place for her in the education industry. Well, there shouldn't be.

It really does not help when the media puts a totally misleading headline on these articles knowing that no one is actually going to bother to read them.

Well, I guess it does help...help create more divisiveness in the population.

"Look! See how ridiculous and outrageous the people you disagree with are being!"

They do it to both sides of every controversy, making everything more stupid and extreme than it really is.

For the record, I believe there are 2 genders. I also believe there is a respectful way to have this conversation that does not involve insulting other people or getting angry.

How is pointing out that biologically there ARE only two genders hate speech? Is this not the truth? What other combination of sexual chromosomes are there besides XX and XY? (Ignoring the VERY small minority of people who have chromosomal disorders such as Turner's or Kleinfelter's Syndromes). What is the chromosomal makeup of a man who identifies as a woman? Is it not XY? Why is pointing out this truth hate speech?

Before you start throwing around the nonsense of how I am a bigot and intolerant, etc., please note that I personally have no problem with transgendered people. I do have a problem with reality denial though. If a transgendered person says that "I am male, but I wish I were female. Therefore, I am going to live my life as if I were a female," then I have no problem. That is not denying the reality that this person is biologically male. It is a choice of lifestyle, and that choice is none of my business. It's only when people like this claim that they ARE female that I have an issue; they are not female. A simple genetic test can prove me right on this one. They have XY chromosomes so they are male. No reason to discriminate or punish those people, but let's at least try to not lose touch with the reality.

I doubt a professor who uses a Christianity class to preach about male privilege and transgender rights is going to be the type to have a civil exchange with someone who disagrees with her on those issues. I wouldn't take her word on how that whole exchange went down. And if you look at the reprimand letter they are pretty much requiring him to crawl on broken glass and grovel at the professor's feet while begging her for forgiveness and acquiescing to her views on a direct point by point basis. They are also offering no assurances that forgiveness will be granted even if he does grovel as demanded.

Like I said before this student is learning a valuable lesson about dealing with leftists with authority.
