Your thought is incorrect. All it takes is the Governor of the respective states where they are deployed to give them the power/order them to arrest.
Simple as that.
Also, since when exactly does it matter what the troops think about their orders? It's what they signed up for, you follow orders...

What we have here is a large group of people who live in constant fear. They are terrified of school kids and now, seemingly, terrified of poor, desperate people fleeing violence in their country much of which is a direct result of U.S. policies.

They are clearly so fearful that their brains, much like the president's, simply cannot process reality in any meaningful way.

It would be sad if their way of thinking wasn't so dangerous.

If you think that it's only refugees coming here you are badly mistaken. Criminals, economic seekers and those from known terrorist countries, etc. are slipping in right along with them according to the former FBI Director. We cannot keep taking in hundreds of thousands of refugees or illegal aliens. Enough is enough!! We don't have the resources and jobs for all of them. We don't have an endless supply of taxes and natural resources either. I'm tired of our country being the flophouse and employment agency to the whole world. I swear you bleeding hearts are going to be the death of this country yet. All this concern for foreigners and none for the needs and rights of our own citizens.
Our fears are not illogical based on the above. You keep throwing the fear card just to make us look ridiculous when our concerns are not ridiculous.

These school kids you refer to will have to be supported by the taxpayer. Stop blaming the U.S. for their plight and instead blame the countries that they come from and the cowards that their citizens are not to stay and make their countries better. I am sick of this BS!

Trump...the moron that does not understand how anything works except for pandering...strikes again...lol
so Trump's a moron for sending the NG to the border. Well then so was 0bama in 2010:

On May 25, 2010, President Obama announced that up to 1,200 National Guard troops would be sent to the border to support the Border Patrol. Addressing domestic laws and activities with the military, however, might run afoul of the Posse Comitatus Act (PCA), which prohibits use of the Armed Forces to perform the tasks of civilian law enforcement unless explicitly authorized. There are alternative legal authorities for deploying the National Guard, and the precise scope of permitted activities and funds may vary with the authority exercised.

And to Bush in 2006:

In 2006, in response to requests for support enforcing federal immigration laws from the governors of Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas, President George W. Bush announced the deployment of up to 6,000 National Guard troops along the southern border to support the Border Patrol. 3 During 2006–2008, more than 30,000 individuals participated in the mission “Operation Jump Start.”

Unfortunately, The Posse Comitatus Act and subsequent legislation specifically prohibit the use of the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines to enforce the domestic laws of the United States except when expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress.

Once the congress approved it, yes, it can be done, very easily.

How do Marines guard the embassies? They follow strict rule of engagement. We can also use Army or Marine sniper team

They follow RULE of engagement.

It's the US military, they have tents for the troops to stay in. The military will not be taking prisoners, so they won't need to house them.

Unfortunately!??!?!? I consider it a safeguard of US citizens. And so did GOP and other true conservatives before Agent Orange took office.

Trump is so unoriginal. Follows the same move of the preceding two presidents as both Obama and Bush sent the guard to the border to assist.
