What's stupid is you not knowing your diary is heavily subsidized thereby encouraging it's gross over-production whereas Canada's supposed 270% tariff is actually comprised of the same limits placed upon Canadian producers access to Canada's markets. Our dairy farmers are not allowed to over-produce.
What's really stupid is you not knowing the U.S. sells five times as much milk to Canada than it buys.
What's really stupid is you not knowing that if you perform an act that reduces Canada's willingness to buy American milk, your milk famers are completely toast as there is no other market for their products in a world already enjoying a glut of milk production.
Americans are over-producing their poorer quality milk products and seeking to dump them in Canada in the same manner and to the same results they accuse China of overproducing their steel and aluminum.
But that's okie dokie 'cause you're America.
We subsidize all forms of farming. That is not free trade. If we did not, Canada likely couldn't afford our products anyway. Trump is going to do nothing to end corporate farming subsidies.

This is the same mentality that said Trump would lose in a landslide, that the stock market would crash if he became president, that taxes would go up on the middle class if he cut taxes, that unemployment would go up, things would get worse for minorities, that he was going to get us into WW3 with NoKo, that ISIS couldn't be defeated & that a blue tsunami was going to wipe out the GOP in the midterms when they were up by 17 points.
The stock market is stable and will stay stable because there is no uncertainty. Invest in American based corporations, or corporations smart enough to invest in America & you'll make money. The idea that the U.S. has to sacrifice it's middle class in order to placate the world is cowardly. The rest of the world is never going to turn it's back on the U.S. We are the prize or all prizes of all consumer markets & with our economy roaring, wages up & people having more money, we only become that much more attractive.
Actually I was someone who thought Trump had a good chance of winning. Recognizing that history often repeats itself because human beings don't actually learn anything from their past was a good basis for that belief.
Your reasoning- that because it hasn't happened yet means that it won't happen at all- is laughable. That's not how it works. Anyone who suggested those things would happen immediately were dumb and misinformed. It takes time to cause that kind of damage, but make no mistake, the damage is being done.
