Can someone please explain to me why a 'Special Counsel' is needed to prosecute what appears to be a plain vanilla income tax evasion case?

They are being fed these talking points by their favorite bloggers (or whatever questionable 'authorities' they trust) and so desperately want to believe it. They live in these echo chambers, and need us to agree with them so they can rest easy at night.

Sadly, they have gone from supporting Trump for whatever policy reasons they originally resonated with, to cult worshipping him like a demigod, and now aligning themselves with outsiders intent upon doing us harm.
