Is this the same Manafort that served in McCain's campaign in 2008? I think so.
They have known each other almost 40 years. Manafort lived in Trump Tower a couple of floors from Donnie. According to daughter, Paul was up and down the elevator all day long.

They are documented as having started a working relationship in 1980.
Their relationship could have certainly preceded 1980 - people do tend to trust friends when deciding to enter into business dealings.
The campaign was but a blip in their relationship.
The trial is being held in Alexandria, VA, a heavily blue city. IMO just the fact that Manafort was Trump's campaign manager will be enough to convict him of something...who cares what. I suspect there are jurors who would love to send Trump a "message", the law be damned.
The judge is just making it easier for Trump to pardon Manafort. Libs will yell, but at this point who cares.

Roger Stone and Manafort started a consulting business several decades ago. Trump was one of their first clients.

So you would like to see a man who has defrauded the US taxpayers of millions of dollars pardoned because you see it as a win for your political team. At least you're honest.
