That means I pay for other people’s stuff. Uh uh. That won’t happen till after I am dead. Until ten personal responsibility.
You're already paying MORE for other peoples healthcare than all other countries citizens. Surely you can see that with all of the welfare assistance like Medicaid, government funded drug addiction systems, the VA and a plethora of other related provisions provided on a welfare basis.
The U.S. government (your money) is paying for healthcare, on a per person average, $10.360.00. That is more per person than every single one of those other countries. Where does your government get that money again...……….YOU. https://www.healthsystemtracker.org/...are-countries/
So, assuming you're serious with the statement of it happening only upon your death...………….when's the funeral?

Chances are, he'll also use more Medicare than what he has paid into the system like alot of those "personal responsibility" guys do. Lots of hypocrisy going around. And then they get Alzheimer's, cant afford nursing home costs of $100 000 a year and Medicaid pays for it. After a life time of being vehemently against "welfare Medicaid".
They cant see it and will keep on fighting against paying less, getting more and have every American covered.
Unfortunately I feel her pain. I went to get my prescription filled this weekend. My insulin was going to be more than $500. Another med that I need was more than $200. And the pain meds that I need that I could not get my doctor to write a script for because some other person somewhere that isn't me might take someone else's pain meds -- not mine, mind you -- probably would have cost a lot too.
This has definitely increased under TrumpCare - which really means less care. I have a friend (in mid-VA - a red area) who has experienced the exact same thing.
The entire Medicare thing has been co-opted by big business. Medicare is/was a government program, but the lobbyists got in there and made sure they'd have "something to sell" (code for ripping off) seniors....so now they have made it extremely complicated to get real coverage. I'm sure some here have read about the Medicare extra plans you can buy....but they have specific lists of drugs they cover...and don't.
How the heck is a senior supposed to sort all this stuff out? The answer is simple - they aren't.
I have about a 130 IQ and have numerous patents and copyrights (best selling books, popular web site) to my name. I know how to do spreadsheet and programmed my own Point of Sale systems for my businesses. I balance my checkbooks....
BUT, trying to find out about Medicare supplements? Forget it. It's as if they sat down and purposely tried to make it impossible (which is exactly what they did do).....
If you want to blame it on someone, the best target is ALL who are against universal health care. Just as the best blame for the illegal drug problem in the USA is toward those (pols or people) who support "law and order" and locking up those who engage in using or selling them.
If we institute full universal health care, 90% of these problems are solved instantly - and, we would have a much happier and healthier populace and better economy to boot.
I agree wholeheartedly, but now someone is going to chine in and call us socialists.
SMH
There is nothing wrong with some aspects of socialism the one's that should ashamed are the those that promote unfettered stone cold capitalism. There needs to be some sort of a safety net for situations like this(that's just being a decent compassionate society).
Correct just like you do now. There would just be less people in poverty and homelessness due to medical bills. Granted the rich T-310 may have to pay a bit more but I think its a fair trade. T-310 is still rich and can still gloat about how much better he is than everyone else in his fancy car and mansion.
Do you think Americans would agree to being taxed regressively (heaviest tax burden on lower income earners) if it meant they'd get National Health Care?
^ tad misleading.
For example, income taxes in Germany, the most populous country in the EU, are distinctly progressive with rates ranging from 0-45% on AGI. There are no/ low burdens on low- middle income economic classes. The burden is on higher income earners.
Indirect taxes, specifically VAT, are regressive at 19%. Food however is taxed at 7%.
When Trump said we are the higher taxed country in the ( developed) world, he was mistaken, the source of fake news. When challenged, he calls media with facts, fake news.

Ah but comrade BornintheSprings is a party official (and a jealous one at that) and gets to decide what rich is and how much people should have.
And Hitler loved children. Some of them. The ones he didn't throw into concentration camps.
You don't make a lick of sense. What has Hitler have to do with some sort of a safety net for hard working people who can't afford the exorbitant prices For their life saving Cancer drugs and insulin. Absolutely nothing!
Go play along now with your friends on the playground now the grownups have some talking to do.
