You can't have production without consumption. If you produce something and there are no consumers, the people doing the producing will have to stop producing, because nobody is buying what they're producing, and they are losing money doing all that producing. And once they stop producing, all those employees doing the producing will be laid off.

It's unfathomable I even have to explain that!
Just one more indicator that linear logic is a foreign concept to some on here.

LAWL. Pot, meet kettle.

WaldoKitty--do you have any basic understanding of economics? Tariffs are leftist.

Responses.
  • Irrelevant.
  • I do. And calling them "leftist" simply means you know nothing of the US Constitution. Because that is where they are authorized.
  • Ad hominem

You started it with insult. A valid argument doesn't require that tactic. Maybe you should try it again.

Linear logic? Hahahahaha. You can't figure out the difference between a producer & a consumer. Let's make it easy. Where does the wealth end up?

The really funny thing here is, people like WaldoKitty want to turn the US into a 3rd world nation - though undoubtedly they don't think so. But that's what they really want.

To wit: The poorer the nation, the higher its tariffs tend to be. People like WaldoKitty want to raise tariffs to something like, say, Argentina, or India, or Brazil. Well guess what? If you want tariffs like Argentina, India or Brazil, you will get an economy (and levels of wealth) like Argentina, India or Brazil.

I said, "Somebody needs a lesson on basic economics." I don't consider that an insult, given what you were telling us, I consider that a fact.
