The whole "national security" shtick is just fearmongering, which is the only way conservatives know to motivate anyone. Yes, we should tighten border security, but way fewer are coming in than in the 2000s and there is no reason to hold government hostage over it - other than Trump's pride and arrogance.

There are plenty of things that are costing more lives and dollars every day - like healthcare - that nobody in GOP gives two ****s about.

His legacy will be holding Americans hostage for a symbol of his pride.
Your healthcare costs are so high because your Kalifornia hospitals can't refuse service to illegals which are flooding them. Take a sniff of what you are shoveling.

How do people make their way in the world when they are conned by bogus information that is easily checked out?

Hospitals are not "flooded with illegals." This is BS, and not the reason for the high cost of medical care.

Hospitals can and do refuse service to those who can't pay.

Only emergency rooms are mandated to accept anyone who walks through the door and they only provide acute, emergency care.

Anyway, back to the topic of this thread. There are indeed a lot of problems to be solved. Wasting $5 billion on a downpayment on a wall we don't even know what it will be built out of it is low on the list of priorities.

You really shouldn't make stuff up like that because someone will eventually fact check your claims

California is ranked #22 for healthcare affordability, with #1 being most affordable. On the other hand, Texas is #49 and Louisiana #50

No, the fear mongering is all of the things you mentioned above. It's not an irrational fear to want a secure border. There are still thousands jumping our border illegally every month. So claiming it's down from 10 years ago doesn't mean crap. Get back with us when it's down to a trickle and then we can talk.

Your labeling the GOP as not carrying is also false. If the Democrats really cared about the American people they wouldn't be putting illegal aliens above the American people. Wanting the wall has nothing to do with pride. Was it pride back in 2006 when Schumer and Obama signed the actual wall bill? Don't be a hypocrite!

^^^^Very good point

The democrats don't want to negotiate. They have no rational reasons for not wanting to negotiate. Instead, they have an irrational reason --- they hate Trump.

The Dems don’t want to spend $ 5.8 billion for a wall when more up-to-date means are available. Trump only is fighting for the Wall because he wants to fulfill one of his silly campaign promises.

I don't think you are grasping the situation here.

Article yesterday indicated in 10 years drones will be able to lift a person over the wall. Gonna be lots of unemployed coyotes.

And Trump had construction companies design and build the prototypes. The engineering to fix their mess will take years.

There are already drones that can lift a person over a wall.

Batteries may be the drawback. Haven't kept up on it, but have seen YouTube videos of drones lifting people up to house roofs for the past couple years.
