And, again, you demand to see a plan before any work is done. You seem unaware that part of the funding will be used to plan the project.

Why is it that you have no problem when we give billions in aid to third world countries without asking them what their plan is for the money?
Exactly as I was saying. I rest my case (as if another comment of any sort could do any such thing)...

You can't.

Derka durr.
I've got no answers, but I'd like to offer yet another observation...

Our political system and the politicians forced to compete within it don't do too well with specifics. People can't imagine whatever they want if they are not afforded wide latitude to imagine whatever they like. Politicians know this as should we.

What did we have in the way of specifics, for example, that let us know what Trump meant by "making America great again?" Where were the specifics as to how Mexico was going to pay for this "big beautiful wall?" What did we know about Trump's new health care plan for America that was going to be better than anything we'd heard before?

Might seem like transparency and a plan, specifics, are required but that's just not how it works, until then you need to get something passed through Congress...

It’s funny that a man who prides himself as the best negotiator and dealmaker causes all of the country’s problems with our allies and our own government branches. Look for another Trump shutdown! He’s incapable of making a deal.

Why should she bother caving?

Trump is an idiot and reopened the gov't without getting ANY border wall funding, he's lost all leverage. Donald will look like a fool I he shuts down the gov't again.

Trump is even starting to get flak from the right for not delivering on the wall like he promised. He already failed to deliver his promise to repeal & replace Obamacare. haha

And also, Trump has a full republican Congress the first two years of his presidency...and no wall. Did he shutdown the gov't then? No, he didn't. So why now?

That's what she said? I mean the left is taking word for word of what your president stated, so why not her?

Still did not have 60 votes, but you know that, you've been told numerous times....

If he doesn't have the votes, he doesn't get what he wants then.

It doesn't magically become an emergency as soon as he fails to achieve it through the normal channels.

Maybe he should have spent more time making deals so he could get the votes instead of having "executive time".

Democrat or republican, which side seems to care more about the 1.6 million federal contractors who couldn't work for 35 days because Trump needs to build his emergency wall?

No we aren't. He won't shutdown the government again, because it would gain him NOTHING. He'll announce a border emergency during his SOTU, and go from there.
