Instead of making fun of Hawkeye and his ACO comment --- you should read his commentary again because he makes a lot of sense.

I've said something similar in the past, just from the reverse perspective. Because we are not having kids, even if we're driving around in a catless Hummer all day while throwing jugs of oil out the window our carbon footprint is less than the greenest person alive who decides to have even one child.

AOC is essentially making a strong case for zero immigration from poor countries with her comments and the Green New Deal. Why grant residence to people from poor countries when they'll just come here and increase their consumption and carbon foot print 3-20x more? Letting someone in from the developing world with their more socially conservative/child-having outlook would be a far greater crime against the environment than an American having a child. You take in two immigrants in and they are likely going to add at least two more consuming/carbon emitting monstrosities!!!

Better yet, why give developmental/humanitarian aid to poor countries? Let their house of cards fall. Less people, less development, less economic growth, less pollution equals less problems right??!?!

Like so many keen observations, you heard it from me here first!

Heaven help us if the eco-fascists ever take over.

I'm going to sit out 2020 if the AOC/Sanders wing of extremists take over the Democratic Party. You guys can go pound sand and go back to the days of Mondale and Dukakis.

ACO is the gift that keeps giving. One must simply think of the most ridiculous thought you can possibly think of, wait a few months, then it will be a suggested public policy by ACO.

Just when you think you have heard the dumbest thing you have ever heard, ACO does not fail to disappoint and comes up with another beauty.
Smartest thing that cocktail waitress has said since grade school.

Actually you have posters, both left and right, agreeing with regards to people who over breed.

I'd call that a resounding success when the two groups can agree on something.

A counter argument would be that if all environmentally conscious people stop having children the population will become less environmentally aware as the only people having children aren't. As it stands now the future of the USA will be born to two groups : highly religious and lower income.

Yes, by all means, stop having kids but open up those borders.

only a real illiterate would say such a thing. What she proposes, nobody would thrive, you'd barely survive. You'd be fed on rations of government bread and cheese, maybe some MRE's if you're lucky, walk everywhere, have government hand me down clothes and schools that are falling apart with no books or supplies and live in old gray soviet style public housing complexes. It's impossible to do what she advocates without returning to the Dark Ages.
