So why do you want to impose something when its not the natural state of the country?

Again, freedom is not the norm but an abnormality.

We don’t have pure capitalism but we must work towards it.

No we should work towards capitalism with strong safety net.

If capitalism is 100%
Communism is 0%
Then Capitalism with Safety net is 90%

All of this leads to the prevailing sentiment: books are dying because people don't read. Except that sentiment isn't true. As Quartz recently noted, independent bookstores have thrived in the last few years. Between 2009 and 2015, the number of independent bookstores in the U.S. went up by 35 percent.

Book Sales Are Soaring
THis is what Craigiri summarised. Influencers or fake news providers. And sadly there are people who believe it in a flash.

I'd say you FAILED the class!
Its hard to teach intellectual talibans who belieive world was created in a week, but question climate change, oppose abortion but support war and guns.

BTW, it was an A craigiri.

I am sure you also support capitalism, but dont shy away from pointing the flaws in it, like I do.

Perhaps when children today look around them and see wages are in the toilet, job security is gone, they and their parents have a declining quality of life often saddled with high debt and an inability to handle any unexpected crisis, limited access to healthcare, next to no vacation time to enjoy their lives, they can see capitalism for what it is. Just another system that exploits the many for the benefit of the few.

MOST people go to college to IMPROVE their ability to GET A BETTER PAYING JOB.

We read on here all the time how people WITH a college degree earn MORE then those WITHOUT one.

The problem today, IMO, is after the fed started backing loans, even C student are going to college and take "easy" course which does NOT give than any real skills to get a "better paying" job.
You go to a trade school to get a job. You go to college to get an education. Higher education is an end in itself though a money-centric society like ours is quick to forget that. You may or may not get a job with a college degree but a person who attends college is going to have a better understanding of our world than most of those who don't.

Correct...
Todays Republicans are calling what you have now as Capitalism!
And drone on and on about they dont want to turn into a Socialist country.

What is being promoted by the most "socialist" politician today... Bernie Sanders.

Increasing minimum wage, so everybody's wages will slowly increase?
Public funded Medicare for all, that would cut costs in half and increase the living standards of every American?
Negotiating drug prices to equal prices that other 1st world nations pay?
Union to negotiate working condition and increasing vacation time... Most other 1st world countries have 5 weeks.
Public funded Universities and trade schools so people can get and education, to increase their living standards at a fraction of the cost today.
Subsidizing childcare, so children get well paid and trained childcare workers for a fraction of the costs?
Maternity leave.. so the mothers can recuperate after birth and spend the 1st year home with their children and bond?

Every single of these suggestions are common in the Scandinavian countries and are paying themselves back in increased productivity, higher wages, life satisfaction, health, safety.

Working 2 or 3 jobs is unheard of in Scandinavia... a socialist hellhole... but common in the US capitalist system the Republicans are so proud of today.

A highly capitalistic society with a strong safety net increases productivity.

We should look up the stats. We know folks like Trump and GWB don't read (in general). That's why they don't know simply things about governments and history and so on. Reading should be a requirement for public office...the alternative is that our leaders get all their info from the Boob Tube (as the current Boob has for decades)....
Maybe off-topic", then I should report you.

"We know folks like Trump and GWB don't read (in general)"

Really? And what little birdie "educated" on this?

Claiming to be so SUPERIOR, and you STILL don't know WHY you lost the last election.

Us "deplorables" WILL win AGAIN!

"That's why they don't know simply things about governments and history and so on."

You should read the libs posts, even your OWN, if you want to see IGNORANCE about government and history and so on.

Her is one form one of your "highly educated" libs, ""The Republicans held the congress and senate for 8 years..."

I can't tell you how many times libs have been "educated" by us dummies on this forum for the "ignorance of government and history and so on"
