Can't say I blame him with the high taxes and logistical nightmare. I don't think any sitting President has tried to live there since at least the FDR or Theodore Roosevelt era who I believe were also New York area natives. (Not sure on that one)
It makes perfect sense that he'd **** off to FL. That's where most of his like minded folks live. Duh. Unless they are folks living on tax funded farms, anxiously awaiting to move to the sunshine state because the jobs Trump promised aren't coming to pass.

During one of the debates with Hillary, he said he was "smart" that he didn't have to pay taxes so that couldn't be it. I think the sole reason he is becoming a Floridian is because it's a huge battleground state and he's trying to ingratiate himself to its residents.

That said, some pet peeves:
1- Lost state tax revenue from grossly undervalued property management assessments, and tax accountant(s) who enable the deception.
2- Looting assets (as in concealing, not reporting on tax return) from failing business(es).
Most understand power and wealth have advantages, and that tax cheating should not add another advantage.

Yes, and interestingly, my cousins also grew up in the same neighborhood. Of course, the Trumps had one of the biggest homes in the place (I think an Eastern European immigrant now lives in it).
