NYC is a relatively safe city.. Lower homicide rate than Pittsburg and Philly.
No one is attacking the rich. NYC has a lot of well respected wealthy. They are critical of Trump.. no more no less..
Trump has never been a liked figure in NY tristate area... A lot of it was his own doing. These New Yorkers knew him best..
Even as a Democrat, he wasn't well accepted in those circles either.
He didn't win NJ either... did a number on Atlantic city and walked away richer by doing so.
There are only 4 presidents that didn't win their state of residence; Nixon and Trump being two of them.
The PC stepped down, and the radical NYC council is closing rikers, and decriminalizing every crime except rape or murder (pretty much). Watch NYC in 5 years when Putz is out of office. Say hi to Chicago 2.0

Yes, property tax in FL is very high, as is insurance (hurricanes). For Trumps Mar A Lago, the tax is $1.5 million per year.
He is leaving NY because people hate him there. Unfortunately they'll probably hate him in West Palm Beach as well. For whatever reason he is drawn to liberal areas. Why didn't he move to rural Texas?
Does he like liberal areas because of all the "free stuff".

I live in South Carolina in a community with houses that are, to many, over priced. Started to look at buying a housei n Florida and moving. We then looked at property taxes....three times what we pay for a house valued at 60% of what our house is valued at. WHAT?
So the big decision to move to Florida being deemed some wise financial decision is a load of malarkey. It isn't. He would do a million times better in a million places. But go ahead convince yourself it is some wise financial decision instead of knowing full well he has lost his 'status' in NYC and he can't bear to go back and live like that.
For you. But not necessarily for someone saving more from not having to pay a state income tax than the additional amount they would pay for anything else.

A veteran and I agree with your statement.
That said, some pet peeves:
1- Lost state tax revenue from grossly undervalued property management assessments, and tax accountant(s) who enable the deception.
2- Looting assets (as in concealing, not reporting on tax return) from failing business(es).
Most understand power and wealth have advantages, and that tax cheating should not add another advantage.

He has proudly said many times that he, like any other sane person, will pay as little to no taxes as possible. Why would he be embarrassed to reveal his taxes? He is already telling you he hasn't paid much.
