Just don't take a chance going to these places. If there are possible racists behind the counter or in the kitchen, leave. It's not worth getting savagely beaten or having spit in your food.

Just the reality we live with now.

wait.. so if the poster doesn't wear a trump hat, he doesn't have 'be ready to hear things he doesn't like' and is free to complain about specious claims of 'racism'?

This Popeyes's issue just illustrates how powerful social media is currently. The fact that you can move millions with a single social media campaign is amazing and a little scary. This has happened before but for other products and items sold on Amazon or online so you don't see many news stories, but it has happened many times. Social Media has a way of cutting through all the noise and triggering the reader or listener like never before.

Our politics reflect this currently. Right now the best way to get information about our Government is Twitter. Want to know what some politician thinks about a topic, its easier to send them a tweet or check their social media pages for the answer. Social media is here to stay and is now more powerful than television in some cases.

Too me this is the same stuff we used to see with Black Friday before the big internet sales. I used to love watching all the stories and video of people getting trampled at a mall or electronic store. I worked retail during a Christmas season for college money and hated Black Friday with a passion, people were nuts. Remember all television morning shows would talk about the MUST HAVE Toy (Remember Tickle Me Elmo and Bennie Babies), must have Men's piece of crap device, Women's must have perfume or hand bag brand. Its the same stuff just turned up to 11 due to the way people can be individually targeted.

Exclamation Popeyes closes due to assault...

It appears the Popeyes restaurant in Columbia is closed Monday, just days after video showed an employee apparently assaulting a 55-year-old customer in the parking lot.

Some people who work near the restaurant say it’s been closed since last Friday night, when FOX 17 News first reported on the assault.

I don't know how long it will be closed.

https://fox17.com/news/local/columbi...in-parking-lot

It shows a Popeyes customer, 55-year-old Deborah Staggs, walking out of the restaurant, followed by a group of people that includes Popeyes employees.

Then, an employee named Deriance Hughes is seen picking her up and slamming her onto the ground in the parking lot.

Hughes has since been fired from Popeyes, and arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Staggs suffered broken ribs, a broken arm and broken knee. The Rocky McElhaney Law Firm, which is representing Staggs, says she has gone through multiple surgeries and is still recovering.

I can't imagine what that woman was thinking using the N word in that situation. I thought racists were afraid of black people yet here she was fully outnumbered by those angry employees and challenging them.

there's no evidence that she did use it. it seems highly unlikely.

Nuts. His behavior was so unnecessary and he’ll have plenty of time to think about it.

On the other hand though, she’s crazy too if the article is accurate. You kick a worker and call them a racial slur? Over a chicken sandwich?

It’s like the woman who threw food at the worker due to a wrong order in another incident and the worker threw a blender at her, causing major injuries.

Crazy sometimes meets crazier...
