Some people won’t get vaccinated because they believe it isn’t safe, but they’re willing to take Ivermectin livestock de-wormer they bought at the feed store. Now feed stores are forced to put up signs explaining that their product if for livestock and not for humans.
If it weren't so pathetic it would almost be funny.
Is that what your neighbors in Mayberry are telling you?
But seriously, come on, calgirlinnc, if most covid cases that are spiking are only amounting to a mild and brief illness for most people with no long lasting after effects, then just why the heck should there be so much worry and concern about it? After all, I don't see many people in this forum complaining about how being sick with COVID-19 has been one hell of a lasting, horrible nightmare for them. Really, only older people with their bellies sticking out all big and huge need to be more than a little concerned about it.
Seriously, the older, high risk, vulnerable people with their great big bellies sticking out, who are quite adamantly all out refusing to protect themselves from the covid virus, are making it pretty damned bad for the rest of us, and believe me, I'm getting pretty damned sick and tired of it!!!
Because the vulnerable people do not exist in isolation and neither do you. Your actions have an impact on people besides yourself.
And also, >10% of symptomatic cases last for more than a month, even in young people in good health. Most Americans can't afford to go very long without a pay check and with no safety net.
1. I posted the data on hospitalizations. It's clear, cristal clear.
2. Viral replication happens more quickly and for much longer period of time in unvaccinated vs vaccinated person on average. Hence much higher potential for mutations.
How many times does this need to be repeated? Both unvaccinated populations & vaccinated populations will spawn variants. Unvaccinated population variants are downgrades: more contagious but less deadly. Vaccinated population variants are upgrades: more contagious & more deadly.

You won't take the time to read evidence-based science anyway (maybe they are too "hard"?) but here you go:
"Imperfect Vaccination Can Enhance the Transmission of Highly Virulent Pathogens"
Let me know when you are done with those & I can give you more. Vaccine-driven virulence is a "thing", known about for decades & has happened with other vaccines, since we had vaccines.

This effect doesn't seem likely to happen with SARS-CoV-2 though. Most people who die from COVID-19 are quite far along - 14 days or more from symptom onset. Peak infectivity is about 4 days after infection, just before symptom onset, and then declines quickly. So the mortality rate isn't going to exert much selective pressure for this virus, because the people who died would have already transmitted the virus long before.

You assume the 100% risk of exposure to a quantity greater than zero of harmful substances, yes, including covid, the second you step out of your door. Someone that vulnerable needs more protective measures to safeguard their health in normal times. It's on them to reduce that risk to what they deem to be an acceptable level, especially since medical history is privileged and no one is required to disclose that history to anyone.
Your unreasonable pursuit of zero covid will only occur when you seal your head in saran wrap and cease breathing. I can't guarantee you'll be among the living for very long though.
Just got a heart breaking email from my formerly anti-vac sister......I told her in no uncertain terms she was an idiot for passing up the shots. Covid finally got her and drop kicked her butt around the clock. All your plans go out the window when your fever is 103 and you're in an ambulance on the way to the ICU. So all the conspiracy crap and anti vax stuff out there, those folks aren't taking the ride and getting a mask slapped on their face. That's all on you. YOU will realize the mistake and pay the price while they keep spreading the BS. Sister will now get the shots ASAP and the ordeal isn't over yet. This anti vax stuff is horrid in another way also, that ICU bed your sorry butt just took has kept another sick person from getting help with elective or even caused a death because the hospitals are running out of ICU equipment. Get the damn shots........
so you're saying the "You're an idiot!" method didn't work. Are you actually surprised?
Are others actually surprised that invective doesn't work, and ever consider that encouragement might?
If someone called you an idiot - would your first reaction be to agree with them, or disregard them?

Can't rep you enough!
The harsh reality is that people have had 18 months and countless guidance to figure out how to protect themselves. Not only have we led the horse to fresh water, we surrounded it with that water.
