And even in legal states, marijuana consumers are essentially unemployable because most employers still go by the federal policy. Some states such as Nevada are starting to take steps to change this.
Unemployable?

Reportedly about half of employers do not require an initial drug test as a condition of employment and most do not do so on an ongoing basis.

Most employers who require testing rely on cheap saliva and pee tests. Marijuana typically is detectable for only a few days unless the person being tested is a heavy user.

Most employers do not do hair follicle testing which can detect past usage for months, because of the cost.

Since the majority of states have not legalized marijuana, unlikely Federal Law will change.

Alcohol is a LOT more harmful to your body than marijuana. Especially if you do edibles to where there's no smoke involved whatsoever.

But many stubborn boomers, especially conservative ones who grew up watching refer madness and being told that marijuana is a gateway drug, still think it's evil.

Unless you're walking into a distillery, the smell of alcohol is fairly benign compared to the smell of pot.

Not to mention the secondhand smoke effect.
How is it any of your business what others smell like though?!

Have you ever smelled the perfume many older women wear...that VERY strong rose scented perfume?, its strong enough to knock a person down, but I dont complain about the women who wear it...I suck it up and get over it...Or what about the people that do not use deodorant?!

As far as the effects of secondhand smoke...according to many studies, the dangers are greatly exaggerated, but this would not even apply to someone just smelling like pot.

Comparison to the deleterious effects of another drug does not create justification for another.

You serious? Remember Prohibition? That was the Christian's doing. And they'd do it again if they could.

Yet the opposite is?

The very reason that is proposed here is a comparison to alcohol.

May shock some who are delighting in the tokem spirit aroma.
This caustic substance near children is now a misdemeanor. Of course so is smoking cigs ..in confined areas.

You are encroaching on their health I suppose.

Yet swig some brew and it's ok.
No kid directly affected, til you toss the can at em or get belligerent.

Course most adults who prefer oxygen over caustic substance often refrain from knowingly par- toking
