And that is due to New York City being the most populated area in the US and it is a small area.

Once there are that many infections in an area, the only effective way of stopping it is probably sealing the area off the way the Chinese sealed off the Hubei province. But I don't know if it is even possible in legal terms to seal off an entire state in the US.

I don't think so.

Default The world should be Shelter in Place for 3 weeks

This epidemic is nearing it's 4th month in existence, and here in the US we aren't even close to peaking yet. We could be talking months of limited business if not more. Many schools are shut down for the rest of this school year. Economies from around the world are suffering. If the entire globe shut itself down for 3 weeks, I'm no doctor but I venture a guess it would squash the spreading to a crawl.......

....like that would ever happen.

I wish I could remember who said it at the daily press conference but a doctor said that if everybody could freeze in place for 2 weeks, the pandemic would be over.

However, there are far too many COVIDIOTS around who insist on gathering in crowds.
