Let's establish something:

Did Trump downplay the threat of this virus to the country or not?

If you say no, with all due respect, you're full of it.

If the answer is yes, which it is to any sane person, why did he downplay it?

Answer: because he feared the ramifications of it on his re-election chances.

The material is there to 100% prove that point before the election.

right now is not the time to be running these ads and there is no need to clip the quotes.
I never said he didn’t downplay it at first. But I think he did so with the economy in mind. Not a good thing no matter how you slice it, but the intent was different than the intent you are claiming.

Does the virus and the economy play a role in the election? Of course it does. But you cant fault him because these goals align with his election goals, or else you have to fault every president since George Washington.

What is good for America should ALWAYS align with a president’s election goals. That is the entire basis of democracy.

The current POTUS was trained to negotiate real estate transactions. Those are purposely vague.

DH spent some time buying businesses for his employer. Keeping the other off balance and wondering what the next proposal would be was part of the game.

That's not the way to run a government. Or pass on information to citizens.
This is the major problem I have with Trump. And as much as people hate politicians, there is something to be said for knowing how to not give your opponents the opportunity to redesign the words that come out of your mouth.

Monday morning QBing. Every politician was hoping this wasn’t going to be anything devastating. If he would have said we’re going to stop flights from China someone would have probably called him a racist and claimed he was over-reacting.

Get real.

This is true as well. If he would have done what he should have done from the beginning, he would have met a lot of resistance from the left. He would have been highly criticized for that too.

Verifying what the POTUS says is the job of the White House press.

If it is too much for him to handle, let somebody else do it.

The press doesn't verify anything !!! They just make up crap and put it out to The Resistance !!!

It is crystal clear the questions asked by many of the 'journalists' have no redeeming relevant value to the virus outbreak and audience tuned in to hear the latest update.

Time after time questions use quotes taken out of context and given nefarious interpretation are thrown at Trump in this time of crisis as if they were rotten tomatoes.

The reporters actions are akin to trying to trip up a fireman running toward a building engulfed in flames to save a badly burned victim.

That none of these jesters are ever fired or reassigned for wasting the president's time and depriving the audience of needed information, speaks to the loss of a free press and the existence of a sanctioned propaganda machine owned by the socialist democrat party.

Too much of his life has been spent being the only voice in the room he was required to listen to without having any filtering of what it said.

The sad part about that is; had he had the ability to take advice from those with some acquired skills in communicating, he might have fared better without so much blow-back from the press.

Anyone can tell you that you need the press on your side if holding a elected public position. That of course should not mean you need to kiss their arse but it should equate to you not deliberately singling them out for slurs and insults either.

There are ways in which a skilled wordsmith can put someone back on their heels without making it appear personal and petty. Churchill was an artist at that and even the new guy Boris, Trump's doppelganger over there now, has the press treating him with caution and a degree of fairness.

That's true, he doesn't seem very good at that. During nearly every briefing or news conference he includes phrases that when taken out of context, or even slightly twisted, they sound totally outrageous. He does it to himself.

It goes way back to the beginning. When he said the Mexican government doesn't care if criminals cross into the US illegally, and they're probably happy to get rid of them, it provided so much ammo to the media they went crazy with it. Accusing him of calling all Latino immigrants criminals and rapists.

It's been that way ever since. He just hasn't learned it I guess.

If I didn’t know the democrats better, i would have been surprised about it being presented any other way after the fact.
Honestly, anybody with an IQ over 80 realizes that he said what he said because he thought he had the virus under control with the limited actions he took prior to making the "hoax" statement.

He grossly miscalculated and as usual, you and your right wing fellows won't admit that simple fact.
