I don't like Trump. Can't stand how he praises his work regarding the virus but lets move forward.
Every Nation believes itself to be exceptional. In the end, we're more the same than we are different. Humanity can, ( & likely must ) learn from each other. Otherwise it would be a deranged sortof solipsism.

This piece makes a point about American exceptionalism, let's not make it our legacy.

Quote:
There have been five stages of American exceptionalism when it comes to the coronavirus.

Stage One: It won’t happen here.

Stage Two: It’s happening here, but it’s the fault of foreigners.

Stage Three: It’s happening here, but it won’t be as bad as elsewhere so we don’t need to take the necessary precautions.

Stage Four: It’s happening here, and it might turn out to be a problem, but it’s best to address the developing crisis haphazardly rather than at a coordinated federal level.

Stage Five: Uh-oh.

Whether the rallies were actually held isn’t really relevant. At a time when Trump should have been encouraging social distancing at minimum, his message was that congregations of thousands of people would be perfectly fine. That was the wrong message to send.

Why ? Why ?

Why are Democrats demanding a racial breakdown of covid-19 patients ? We are all Americans here.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/democra...inkId=85527099
The lawmakers said in a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar that the government is "currently failing to collect and publicly report on the racial and ethnic demographic information" for COVID-19 tests and patients.

With almost everybody at home, people will have the time to actually enjoy April. Watch for the birds, watch the trees to become green again, watch the flowers sprout. Spring is a great time to be home and enjoy the natural world.

In our go go go, work work work, 24/7 world, many people have missed out on the joys of spring for many years. This year more will have the time to notice.

What I would rather see is a report showing the pre-existing medical conditions of those who heal on their own, those who survive with ventilator and drug treatments, and those who die.

WCNC had a chart on their web page for Charlotte.

75% were between 20-59

20% were over 60

The racial breakdown was pretty even, less then 1% apart.

Angry The main issue with Covid-19 spread. Not what people are complaining about.

PEOPLE are the problem. I am sitting on my front porch, in a SENIOR community, looking at two dozen MORON seniors having a social party. Hugging, kissing, shaking hands, drinking. PEOPLE are the freaking problem. What idiots. They are in the prime risk group regarding age and some of them have other health issues, yet there they are. Putting THEMSELVES at risk....yet if even one gets sick, they will be the first to slam a politician.....especially if that political is not on the same side of the political fence that they are.

I see lots of people complaining about the youth of our country not taking proper precautions, yet this is not the first time I have seen seniors doing stupid things like this.

It does not matter what any government or any single politician does, if morons like these keep going against social distancing then the virus will spread and kill more people. They are IDIOTS over there!!!!

it was March 8 when Italy went on lockdown.

on March 11, WHO declared a pandemic, and WA state - the worst affected at that time - started statewide "severe" measures

this was clear on Sunday. Let's all be glad that's where we are.

Still want to blame Trump - then perhaps you should own that 2 weeks ago leftists were blathering "Fauci has crossed him and will be gone!"

They are going to use race to politicize this pandemic. Race is NOT important and has nothing whatsoever to do with this virus.
