Who has been in more wars... USA or China, in the past 50 years? Who has attacked or invaded more countries? USA or China?

The world may become a safer place if the USA stayed out of many nations' affairs. Ditto for Russia. After all, lately USA and Russia seem to be BFF.

Test the crew, those inffected can be flown to the Naval Hospital Yokosuka Japan., before being flown back to the US. The US has lots of fxcilities on Okinawa and other parts of Japan.

The ship can then head for port, and be deep cleaned before new crew being flown out to man her.

Default Captain of USS Theodore Roosevelt Fired By US Navy After Seeking Assistance for Covid-19 Stricken Ship

Guess it is true that no good deed goes unpunished.

"The US Navy has relieved the captain of the coronavirus-stricken aircraft carrier USS Roosevelt days after his plea for help for his sailors went public.

Acting US Navy Secretary Thomas Modly announced on Thursday afternoon that Captain Brett Crozier had been relieved of his command of the nuclear aircraft carrier, four days after he penned a scathing letter to Navy leaders calling for stronger action to address the COVID-19 outbreak he said was unnecessarily threatening his sailors lives. "

Go back and read why he was relieved and come back.

It had more to do with going outside chain of command, leaking/releasing classified information, sending that information over an unsecured network and releasing that information to people unauthorized to receive it.

One would hope that he would have been relieved of command under any Administration. It's not always about Trump, the Navy and its regulations predates him and will continue when he leaves office, whenever that is.

Incorrect, I hate Trump but this had nothing to do with Trump.

The military does not like drama.

By choosing to leak this to the press rather than deal with it through his chain of command the captain chose to attract extra attention to the situation and go outside military channels. That is a no no in the military and that is why he was removed.

He panicked.

I knew this was coming when I heard we wanted to take personnel off his ship.

He must have been pretty desperate! When you go to your superior for guidance and they fail to act what do you do? Let people continue to get sick? It’s a tough call.

Also he didn’t leak the situation to the press one of those 30 did.

Absolutely correct. There is a chain of command, and a system to follow. If the CO of that ship violated the chain of command and or the system which he did by leaking, then he earned what follows.

For those who never served, you will never get it. I would wager the majority of those crying about that Captain's plight, have never served, never would serve, and only care because they think they can hammer Trump with it.

If people think that Naval Leadership don't give a damn about an Aircraft Carrier, its battle group and its mission effectiveness they have smoked too much crack.

That CO had options, he chose poorly.

Desperate? NO he panicked. He has to have faith in the chain of command. He needs to be the example. If he fails at that his crew fails. I don't know who leaked what, but someone did. He has seen his last promotion and likely his last command. It's a shame because CO of a carrier leads to Admiral every time unless they screw it up.

Psssst here is a secret. On that carrier is the task force commander. Normally at least a 2 star Admiral. That is where that Captain's request should have went. It was that Admiral's decision what to do next and the Captains duty to abide by it.
