the media wins again!

Plays with theoretical legal nuance where both parties are correct.

anything to attack Trump.

Why not explain how each side has their own responsibility.

So the federal government has no say over states????????

states may tighten federal law but not ignore it.

Just another media induced hysterical rant over nothing.

So the party that screamed for years about states rights is now doubling down on the president having ultimate power, to tell the states what to do in most situations? I see.......

this isn't rocket science, if those opening for business can't do business with other businesses because they are closed you just develop new business partners with those companies that are open. Staying closed will put you at a distinct disadvantage but hey, do as you wish,

“When somebody is president of the United States, the authority is total,” Trump said at Monday’s White House coronavirus briefing. “The governors know that.” - Trump
What have you been smoking?

The governors from both coasts are creating a coalition to open the economy, and Trump blew a gasket over it, claiming they have no right to do that, and he has total authority

Your hero is behaving like Stalin. Heck, yesterday he forced Fauci to take back his words, and then he played videos of people praising him.

This is a duplicate thread, BTW

Why dont you explain it to Trump.

The guy has been president for 3 years and still has no clue how things work. Anyone who thinks president had total authority according to constitution, obviously never read it and knows nothing about.

There is no federal lockdown. He left it to the states. So how can he lift something he never implemented?

Also “authority is total”? Wow, that’s some serious authoritarian bs that should have both parties up in arms.

Actually your post demonstrates something that you failed to mention. The President is worried about political power and authority more than the data and the end result to Americans.

It looks like the states are cooperating with their neighbors rather than trying to control everything themselves. Collaboration, if you will. They made the decision to shut down individually, but are being pragmatic about working together to reopen.

As I said in the other thread, we'd be hearing literal calls for revolution if Obama would have said something like that.

Since Trump said it, nobody cares.

You have a president on national TV saying he has total authority over the states, and you try to write it off as a media attempt to attack Trump. You ideologues have no principles. You will say and do whatever is necessary to defend Dear Leader, even if it means corrupting the very values that your party supposedly represents. Imagine Barack Obama saying on national TV "the president has total authority." You would be calling for revolution.
