Indeed, then you guys can go back to screaming at the sky for a while after he wins again.

It'll give you time for a little self reflection and then you'll be all fresh to think up your next phony investigation and impeachment.

All presidents have had these powers, but Trump is leaning on them like a communist dictator.

Trump owns this disaster.

Trump claims that his Presidential power is "total"?

Really?

What happened to the party of limited government and federalism?

This is why I switched from Republican to Libertarian. Both Ds and Rs favor big government when it helps their voters. Time for SMALLER government, LESS spending and MORE freedom.

If the Dems had a decent candidate to run against Trump, Trump would be tossed out of office on his ear. But as the Dems have nominated a doddering simp we have a better than average chance of getting stuck with this walking talking asteroid strike for another 4 years. Truthfully, I haven't a prayer to offer for this country.

Trump is a wanna-be dictator. I'll be glad to see the last of him.

Now, does the declaration of an all-states Emergency change it? I don't know but doubt it.
Not really.

He could now declare martial law and then lift martial law, but that wouldn't have any effect on existing shelter in place orders from the states. He can't order them to lift them. I can cajole, request, bribe, threaten funding and take various coercive actions but that's the limit of his authority. Had he declared martial last month maybe the states wouldn't have made individual orders or they may have anyway. I don't think that was the right course of action then but it was one he had that he could have taken. It would have resulted in a Constitutional crisis but he could have done it and then dealt with the aftermath.
