But that's their job, Amy Bonomi, a social science researcher and works in Communications and Brand Strategy office. Gotta give these conservative sites credit they take a line or study by two people and turn it into “every liberal says heterosexual wedding pictures make you a bigot!!!l”
This story reminds me slightly of a gay man I worked with years ago. He had a rather risqué photo of his husband, lounging naked in a tub of bubbles with strategic covering of his naughty bits, hanging in his cubicle. He was asked to remove it for no other reason than it being deemed inappropriate, and he LOST IT on management, and threatened to sue them for sexual discrimination. The department manager asked him to take a walk with him through the department and point out ANY photos hanging in ANY cubicles that were similar at all to his photo. He was not able to find anything comparable and subsequently pulled the photo, but maintained an angry quiet resolve that everyone was bigoted and against him. He could not be convinced otherwise despite the department having several other married gays with photos of their spouses in their cubicles.
Who wants to see a co-worker’s naked spouse in a tub of bubbles every time you confer with them in the office? It’s not at all the same as your traditional wedding or family photo.

That doesn’t mean I’m going to go out and say something mean, but I might unintentionally say something that’s offensive to these hyper-sensitive people. Oh well.
I'm not disagreeing with you this whole thing is one concept from the Communications and Brand Strategy
office and as I responded to the other poster there are people who look at this type of stuff because of their views/clientele.
If you are in business and doing these meetings would you not do it professionally? All I say is people should be conscience of what is being seen and a shot of a stacked kitchen counter doesn't look the best that's why Zoom allows you to have a background of your selection so they don't have to see the counter..
I'm liberal (by this site's standards) and work on a college campus. This is idiotic. As long as everyone is free to post a similar photo- straight wedding, gay wedding, mixed race wedding, second marriage, religious wedding, civil wedding- then I am fine.
TBH I think a lot of employers should implement a preferred back ground for the sake of professionalism. Much like casual Friday, the disparity in what people think is professional/work appropriate is pretty stunning.

Drive whose policy?
If your boss reads this and decides to implement it, that's a problem with your boss, not social science.
Yes liberals marriage is most fitting between opposite sexes and it always will be no matter how much you try to
Pervert the tradition of marriage. Marriage between the same sexes has never been or will never be normal no matter how much you try to pervert society to accept it. And I’m sure “God” would agree!

Exactly.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who recognizes this.
Couldn't rep you again, yet.
"Oh, my gosh! Academics that work in the corporate comm and strategy sector are researching things that can impact corporate comm and strategy! The horror!"
Again stop trying to stretch what's not said, "about the only thing that makes sense is realize what people are seeing" whether you like the examples I selected or not is not a let connect this to that.
Back peddling, go have another cup of coffee your not awake yet.
You're being dishonest either intentionally or unintentionally. I'm drinking Tea, btw.
All I know is that doing zoom or Skype and your employer or college campus sees something that might look offensive to them. This can lead to negative impact on the employee or academic. We live in an society in which image is everything and for some imagery can be offensive.
