You are exactly right that all that matters is what happened in this incident. So why do people make up things about Floyd when the facts stand alone.
Oh, it's one thing for someone who knows nothing about him to claim he was a "good man". It takes another to decide to detail a decade-old rap sheet of non-violent crimes ending in an armed robbery prison term.

I don't think we've heard definitively either way if he was a "good man" over the last 7 years. It seems - right now - that he didn't have any record over that period.

You're either willing to forgive the sins committed in the past for which time was served, or you're going to further the issue with "once a criminal, always a criminal."

If some can't get that - the problem never gets solved.

I usually agree with you, but after watching this develop, I would advise waiting until ALL of the info on this comes out......

isn't it interesting that 2 "right wingers" like us can reach the same conclusion that disfavors the police action?

I have heard of 'incidents' involving this gentleman in recent years. Just because they didn't result in an arrest record doesn't mean that he was not involved in criminal activity, maybe constantly.......

We don't know. You don't know.

100% agree with you. As I said, the facts stand alone without any need for embellishment about the character of the deceased. When people do that, I suspect they have an ulterior motive.

Wait until more info comes out. There is already a new video of an altercation within the police car, which is why they dragged him back out.

How would you have liked to have been the cops on that call, Bo? A 6'6" career criminal high as a kite on illicit drugs and booze? Talk is cheap.....

Stay tuned, more to come....
he was not a saint.

one cannot say "career criminal" since no one has provided arrest records over the last 7 years.

there "were reports" that you murdered someone last week. Yes, we'll wait to find out more information.

I don't see - in the video that's been posted - an altercation in the back seat. Surely, there'd be a whole lot more officer movement going on. Is there some claim he broke free of his cuffs?

I want the cops to be able to use deadly force every single time they are confronted with a life-threatening decision. I don't care if it's a white that charges them with a pocket knife - when he gets within 20 ft, I want them to drop him like a rock.

I suppose "we'll see" if their life was at risk or not.

I think we most likely agree as we usually do. I'm just thinking it's best to wait and see what further info comes out. In most of the incidents from the past, there was always more information that more or less cleared the police.

Remember Trayvon and the rest?

There's really nothing that would come out that would justify kneeling on someone's neck for over 8 minutes....nearly 3 of which was AFTER the guy goes limp from losing consciousness. Like I've said in other threads, I've choked people out before, I've been choked out before, I know what if feels like and that's why I know that anyone who keeps going that long after someone loses consciousness intended to kill them.

To me this is just a matter of right and wrong, not left and right. Sometimes the facts support a justifiable killing, this isn't one of those situations. This was an outright murder with no justification whatsoever.

oh, indeed we agree generally. There's got to be a LOT of new information produced in this case. Information that, in our current age, one would think would have surfaced already if it existed.

oh it's definitely right vs wrong. I'm just intrigued at how the the lefties who think they have us all pegged must be thinking right now.

It was a homicide, for sure. I don't know whether it was manslaughter or murder. Those are legal terms, both mean "wrongful death".
