Hope not. Maybe they'll replace them with American monuments.

Last I checked, books and first-person documents are still available. What does removing a monument have to do with erasing history? I can still learn about this history from quite literally hundreds of thousands of other sources.
It has nothing to do with "erasing history". When you take those Confederate statues down, it sends a message. It's a message of "we don't honor Confederates". "We don't honor those who fought for/sided with the unjust cause of the Confederacy, which was to keep slavery". It sends the message of moving on. It says "we don't honor those who supported the cause of white supremacy".

It's not a coincidence that the people getting upset over removing Confederate monuments will tell Black people "get over slavery". Detractors will say "you're erasing history". Here is what it is. It's erasing some of the last vestiges of white supremacy in the south. And that is what scares some people more.

Same people who love to tell Black folks to get over slavery really have a hard time letting go of a war they lost.

Losers don’t get to make the rules. It’s time to take down all those statues of those treasonous losers.

It is the classic Communist strategy. Tear down a society to rebuild it in the Collectivist image. The false Utopia (Fundamental Transformation) the "Progressives" are pushing is neither possible nor wanted by humans. This is ERASING HISTORY from the public eye. The Confederacy was part of America, it should not be forgotten.

Trump voters are just suckers for the right wing socialists. Billionaires gained 19% in wealth since March, thanks to the gummint "stimulus" payments. If the gummint isn't going to do anything for common Americans, at least they could quit handing free money to the rich.

Here's the deal: They win, they keep their money. They lose, they keep our money. Meanwhile, they distract you with, "Oh lookee, that guy is a different color. It must be his fault."

Open your eyes. Quit listening to what they tell you, and see what is happening.

It won't be, but just to make sure, perhaps a monument to the victims of negro slavery, that cornerstone of the Confederacy?

Ehm - no? The Confederates did not want to be Americans. It was sort of their thing, actually - not being Americans.

Slavery was not the cornerstone of the Confederacy. Also, we have monuments to Blacks everywhere and Social Engineering programs that cost huge taxpayer $$$ to support them.
