The Dixie Chicks have apparently dropped the 'Dixie' from their name

I've always thought of Dixie as only being a region of the country.

So I thought the name change was a mistake. But since it's their name, they have the right to change it if they wish.
I can remember thinking the same thing when the Little Rascals became The Rascals.

I'm pretty sure some fans of the Quarrymen didn't like their band's name change either.
