Not in these times. It was unifying to us. Not so much to you apparently.

Exactly. We had the Democratic Party refer to Mount Rushmore as a place to “glorify white supremacy” just last week. Real Americans who love America don’t want to unify with people who feel that way, and have that much contempt for our past, our present, and our future.

Trump's speech was unifying to his supporters who are already unified. Meanwhile he continues to alienate everyone else who, unfortunately for him, are about 60% of the voters.

It was a divisive speech, and since you agree it was designed to unify only the base then you have proven my point.

A good president would make every effort to find s solution for the problems in the nation, but Trump purposely does the exact opposite. He panders to the base, and plays people against each others, which is the last thing this country needs. It would have been better if he had shut his face and stayed in his bunker.

I know you adore and worship him, so you'll never see any fault in him no matter how obvious it is.

To him, and people like you there is only 'us' (his base) and 'them' (everyone else), and 'them' are considered enemies, as can be seen in your attempts to falsely associate everyone who is non-base to rioters.

Those people alienated themselves over the past four years with their “Resistance”. It should come as no surprise to anyone that Trump isn’t singing to them. He’s done trying to get people to like him. Now he’s just trying to keep them from burning the place down.

From day one Trump has never made any effort to reach out beyond his base of racists and religious nutjobs. And 40% of the voters will not do it for him in November.

From day one his detractors swore they would resist and fight every single day that he occupies the White House. And people like you have denigrated and insulted a massive demographic of conservative Americans enough for us to no longer be concerned with you or your wants. You reap what you sow.

You cast around names like they belong to you....or mean something. His "base" is a word which you think indicates something. It does not.

WE are individual citizens made up of the colors of the species. WE are striving hard working and dedicated to our families. We are lawyers, doctors, mechanics and moms and dads. You think we are a term, an aside, a joke with washers on the front porch.

You mangle our honor with your lack of understanding and pretend to know us. You don't. Your deceit shines through your posts. You don't care about us, you don't want us to succeed.

WE Honor him because he is the President. He has faults and flaws and we see them. But we honor the office and his work bringing our nation to successful outcomes. All you see and blinded by it and your juvenile hatred is those flaws.

And, yes given these times, people who trash America to us are criminals.

You say "pander" and you don't have a clue not one why we like the man. We are caring, hard working people.

Base. Pander. Enemies.

We don't think that way. Hopefully to this you will know why.

The tragic fact for the future of the country is that as divisive as he has been, 40% of the voters still follow him obediently. That says more about them than Trump. He didn’t creat the anger and fear within his base of a changing America. He only skillfully exploited it.
