The only source for the idea that hcq works as a prophylactic against covid came from DJT, it didn't come from doctors or science.
There is an Indian study that indicates HCQ has some prophylactic benefits - I didn't look into the details or methodology, though. No need - Henry Ford is doing a 3000 subject randomized, double-blind study on that very topic as we speak.
Not that prophylaxis would help ol' Louie anyway - since he's already contracted the virus.

University of Minnesota already did a controlled study and concluded there was no benefit.
The reason you think it is the only source is because Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc. keep deleting any supporting information that would show you otherwise.
No, it's because it never existed. And since I don't get news on covid from those places anyway, what they choose to do wouldn't affect my perception of it.
I recommend looking at medical news aggregators if you want the latest info on covid research.
No one on the left is on a crusade against hcq in general. It clearly is useful in treating malaria, lupus, and several other conditions.
It just has not been shown to be effective against covid in multiple scientific studies, which are how causation in cures are determined.
For some reason, people on the right just can't seem to accept those results, could their motivations be...perhaps...because DJT disagrees?
And how, exactly, can it be shown to be effective in extensive medical studies when covid has only been around for a few months? Meanwhile people keep dying while you wait for studies that take two or three years. That's definitely liberal logic.

Out of those three cocktail ingredients my money is on zinc being the only one that'll actually help.
Well, it's shown to inhibit viral replication, right?
The real question is will it work against this virus and how much/where does the zinc need to be.
