The claim is that the virus was manufactured, not that it was leaked from a lab.

Basics fact of the paper were made up. So how exactly is she believable? Where is the evidence?

That's what Tucker was saying months ago. There were no bats in the Wuhan wet market. If there were you would think the Chinese would produce evidence of bats there. But they haven't. So I have thought for months that it probably came from a lab. The Chinese reluctance to let anyone investigate is very suspicious.

Many scientists are saying it could have been made in the lab though. COVID spreads very easily in humans which is quite unusual. If it wasn't engineered why won't the Chinese let scientists from other countries have access to their lab and data?

She was funded by an anti-China group called the Rule of Law foundation run by Steve Bannon who works for Trump.

Here is a criticism of the article.

why coronavirus wasn't lab created

Your article starts with a lie right at the start.

Several months ago, there was speculation that SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, was created in a Chinese bioweapons laboratory.
No one said it was a bioweapon. Just like the Chernobyl meltdown wasn't a deliberate release of radiation. It was a safety test gone wrong.

Quote:
The main argument for why the virus was not man-made is that the spike protein (which binds to a human cell receptor called ACE2) was shown to be non-ideal for binding to the receptor. While it does bind tightly, computer simulations suggest that other sequences would be better for binding. This is evidence against the virus being man-made because, presumably, a bioengineer would have chosen a different spike protein gene sequence.
That's a really weak argument.

While the analyses above suggest that SARS-CoV-2 may bind human ACE2 with high affinity, computational analyses predict that the interaction is not ideal.

It has infected millions - that shows it's pretty close to ideal.

Trump was one of the ones who started the story in April. He not only claimed it was a bioweapon but that it came from a military bioweapons lab, both of which are false and repeated in Li-Men Yan's paper.

Nature is the magazine that's been cited as publishing articles by scientists with funding by the Chinese government. It published a number of articles espousing the natural origin of the virus. People generally don't cite the articles much anymore.

If it infects people and doesn't make them sick, it's not an effective bioweapon. This was already noted by the CIA early in the pandemic. They saw that the US governments and the public were screwing this up. They didn't ramp up supplies and testing, and many in the public were panicking or resisting the public safety guidelines.

We don’t need to look into the lab to know if it was engineered or not. We can already look at the genomic code of the virus which Chinese researchers released rapidly for that and it’s been established already that it was not engineered. Scientists would have seen additional genetic material if it were engineered by humans. Now what we don’t know is if this virus was intentionally or accidentally released from this lab.

The claims are several:

1.) The virus was manufactured in a lab,
2.) It was leaked from the lab,
3.) The leaking was deliberate,
4.) The virus was designed as an anti-personnel weapon.

And yet we have no evidence for any of these claims and number one has already been debunked.

Rule of Law foundation or Soros' Open Society, that remind me a quote from Julian Assange.
