I wonder why some people from the West have that odd Taliban mentality. Seems that all the supposed freedom has caused the opposite effect and schooling has failed.

The Constitution is based in many parts off Biblical principles. So, she wouldnt be far off base. Its the liberal heathens or the dummies on history who get all bothered by that comment.

American freedom means we all choose our religion the Government has no business telling anyone if they should follow a religion. Judges who look to the bible for legal ruling's should not be sitting on a bench. If you want that kind of Government move to Iran.

Many Western human norms, values etc. date back to ancient texts, mostly Egyptian, Sumerian and Persian.
But let's face it, most of our fundamental ideas of justice, morals etc. are innate, and can be found around the globe, tens or hundreds of thousands of years old.

However that isn't really the issue since she didn't actually use that word, at least from what the article says - it's just how the article describes it. However, if she views the Bible as being the controlling document to her legal decisions rather than the Constitution, that's a problem. Not because I am opposed to the Bible, but the job of Supreme Court justice is to support and interpret the Constitution, not the Bible or any other religious text.
Love this.

Winner.

"Our" fundamental ideas of justice vary greatly because they're entirely subjective and change from person to person.

One of the biggest reasons government was created was to manage individual rights --to prevent someone else's perverted opinion of "justice" from interfering with someone else.

This has nothing to do with the Bible, of course, since the Bible is full of immoral and unethical commands from the tribal war god of Abraham.

Ford's testimony was so full of holes that the special prosecutor who specializes in rape cases pointed out 9 specific instances where her testimony conflicted, e.g. perjury.

She perjured herself.

Later, something like 3 other pieces of information came to light that also contradicted her bull**** testimony including an accusation of credit card fraud from her boyfriend in Hawaii who she used to go flying with constantly.

etc etc etc

She was a fraud and her accusations were completely unsubstantiated. They were baseless.

Do you understand these terms? Unsubstantiated? Baseless? Their definitions fit perfectly.
