Trump supporters don't look to government for gifts, nor to solve their problems. We do it ourselves. Get a grip.
That's contrary to the opinions so oft expressed among you that those who don't pay taxes are nothing but losers freeloading off the gubmnt.
You can't, regardless of Trump's beliefs, have it both ways. Either you're a deadbeat paying no taxes and the veritable raison-de-etre hypocritical Republicans use to refuse to entertain any kind of single payer or universal healthcare system, OR you're a taxpaying member of society doing your share to support the federal republic.
Trump can shut this "fake news" down in a hurry and make his IRS filings public, as he stated he would, along with promising you the moon to get elected.

The federal laws and the SCOTUS precedents pertaining to the absolute privacy of tax return information get their teeth from the 4th Amendment.
There are numerous federal laws that bar the release of individual tax information. IRS regs, US Code, SCOTUS precedent, etc. Lots and lots of LAWS against it.
Whoever chose to steal that information from the IRS and then pass that stolen info to the NY Times has committed several felonies. The NY Times, in acquiring information they know was obtained illegally, has committed several felonies.
Here's why even the Trump hater should care - if the law doesn't protect one single citizen, it doesn't protect any citizen. If the 4th Amendment is meaningless for the President, it is meaningless for anyone. If the NY Times can get away with violating laws that protect individual privacy, then the entire concept of individual privacy is meaningless.
YOUR FREAKING INDIVIDUAL LIBERTIES are under attack here, whether you realize it or not. Donald Trump, in this case, is just another citizen allegedly afforded individual protection of his liberties under the law. If we do not care about that individual citizen, we do not care about ANY citizen, including you.
Trump is not my concern here. My concern is the casual disregard for individual liberty and civil rights. No faster path to abject tyranny than everyone just being blasé about gross violations of individual rights.
Nobody claimed it came from the IRS. There are people in the private sector who would also have had access to his returns.

Nobody will figure out that this happens every time a Republican president (sometimes a demonic too) is up for election or re-election. It did happen with Hussein Obama and Benghazi, but the crack licking MSM and the demonic party covered for him. It should have sunk his second term. Hussein Obama will pay for Benghazi, in this world or in the afterlife, but he will pay for it.

Please explain how the MSM "covered" for Obama during the Benghazi case. Considering that there were TEN investigations led by the GOP in Congress at the time & it was all over the news so how did they "cover" for him?

NYT is trusted by every legitimate source in the world to protect their anonymity. Because the are the gold standard for confidentiality, they get to see all the good stuff first.
And I'd bet the rent money that that article was lawyered, and sources verified to make their case in court.
