So the Russian Hoax is further proven BS. Maddow and other MSM propagandists constantly pushed a narrative that Trump wouldn't release tax returns because of Russian money.
His tax returns don't show this Russian boogeyman we have been fearmongered into thinking about for years.
That's not at all what this means. That part of the story hasn't been published yet. Have a little patience and watch the NYT website for information.

Donald J. Trump paid $750 in federal income taxes the year he won the presidency. In his first year in the White House, he paid another $750. He had paid no income taxes at all in 10 of the previous 15 years — largely because he reported losing much more money than he made.
As the president wages a re-election campaign that polls say he is in danger of losing, his finances are under stress, beset by losses and hundreds of millions of dollars in debt coming due that he has personally guaranteed. Also hanging over him is a decade-long audit battle with the Internal Revenue Service over the legitimacy of a $72.9 million tax refund that he claimed, and received, after declaring huge losses. An adverse ruling could cost him more than $100 million.
Trump PAID, as in transferred to the US Treasury, $1 million in 2016 and $4.2 million in 2017. Note also that most of the overpayment was rolled forward, not refunded. The $750 figure is an ADDITIONAL $750. Thus every single story saying he ONLY paid $750 is a lie.
if these are lies I'm sure trump would have already filed a Libel lawsuit and demanded a retraction. His big response was "fake news...nothing to see here folks, just keep moving along."
Questionable? What? They are LEGAL tax deductions under the U.S. Tax Code that his LAWYERS and accountants make sure are legal and usable. Stop guessing and making accusations that you know nothing about.
The tax code is written to benefit high earners like Trump. Just to say its legal and that is that ignores how the average person has to pay a big chuck of their earnings to income taxes and does not have the advantages of someone like Trump.
