"And if exit polls are to be believed, several voting blocs comprised of white and older Americans contributed to his success."
"While whites continued to favor the Republican candidate in 2020—as they have in every presidential election since 1968—it is notable that this margin was reduced from 20% to 17% nationally. At the same time, the Democratic margins for each of the major nonwhite groups was somewhat reduced."
"Moreover, in key battleground states, white female college graduates generally registered greater support for Biden in 2020 than they did for Hillary Clinton in 2016."
"Take Arizona. It is a state that has not voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since 1996. While rapidly diversifying, its older white population has leaned heavily toward Republicans. This time was different; white college graduate women and men flipped sharply toward Democrats, from 2016 Republican advantages of 2% and 12%, respectively, to 2020 Democratic advantages of 15% and 3%."
So, what's the deal? Why did the "White Vote" favor Biden in this election?[/QUOTE]
The white vote favored Donald Trump this election.
Zs are between 8 and 23 now (so 1997 to 2012) and make up 10% of voters this year. Millenials are 24 to 39 (81-96), make up 27%. X are 40 to 55 (65-80) and make up 24% of voters. Boomers are 56 to 74 (46-64) and make up 28%. Silent and older make up 9%.
Turnout for Z and the youngest half of Millenials was between 53 and 55%, highest recorded for the under-30 cohort.
thanks. that doesn't look quite right though. Maybe one of the %'s are transposed? Otherwise, Biden would win by like 20% (without doing the calculation). the only group Trump won was the 9% of votes @ 51%?
Covid and his response to it. 'Slow the testing down" and "inject disinfectant" were really bad. Then saying that we were rounding the curve when cases are increasing exponentially. He should have been telling vulnerable people to isolate like his advisor Scot Atlas. I though he would turn things around when he hired Atlas.
Going after the USPS was another stroke of genius from the outgoing traitor. Only a fool would go after a govt. service that has a 91% approval.

This was a Coup, not an election.
Then prove actual cheating with hard facts that a court would accept. From what we've seen so far all the tin foil hat theories have been tossed.
How can it be a coup when it has been proven in state after state that the President lost, time to accept it.
Better question: why did anyone, white or black, vote for Trump?
It was a vote against socialism, open borders, amnesty for illegal aliens, defunding LE, ending the ICE department, etc. Why were you and yours in favor of the above?
Trump supporters conveniently ignore the fact that Trump was the most disliked president in history. They didn’t believe the approval polls, they didn’t believe the state polls, and now they don’t believe the actual vote.
That it doesn’t surprise anyone that Trump lost is something they have a hard time grasping. But I sense that they slowly will.
He was only disliked by the liberal left. I don't vote on personality anyway I vote based on policy.
I'll believe the results of the actual vote when all avenues of fraud have been investigated. If Biden is sworn in on Jan. 20th then so be it. I won't throw a fit and b*tch about it for four years like you and yours did since 2016.
But millions of white women who voted for Trump in 2016 switched their votes this time just because they find him obnoxious. Yes, they're risking their children's future with less thought than they use in changing the channel on the TV. Sure, they know that Trump's policies are better, but it's not a matter of reason, it's purely shallow emotionalism.
.
apparently, being an ******* matters to some people. Some call that "character", or in this case "aacting Presidential"
"Whites" voted for Trump by a 17% margin - from your own post and link.
If you're wondering why the margin dropped from +20%, I will suggest without further research:
*Hillary was hated by a lot of people.
*Turns out that a 4 year drumbeat - including some self-inflicted harm - had maybe even more people hating Trump.
*Young voters highly favor Democrats, and there were more this year (I'm sure this stat is available)
*Trump's bad messaging on Covid, and not acting paternally ("Now wear your mask!") has a LOT of middle-upper class white women scared to death of Covid (maternal instinct) and needing someone to blame.

Interesting question. Perhaps some folks considered voter suppression should not be a winning strategy.
Trump administration has Voting Rights Act on life support
Quote:
Only 12 years ago, in 2006, a unanimous Senate and a nearly unanimous House of Representatives re-authorized Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act, the crucial provision that prevented jurisdictions with a history of discriminatory voting practices from implementing any changes in voting without federal preclearance.
