Canadians do not get "worked up" over the discussion. Canadians are gobsmacked how many Americans are ignorant about the Canadian system, yet spout off how wonderful the USA system is in comparison. Educating themselves seems to be beyond their ability of the facts.
BTW, that applies to mostly the rabid ones. Many Americans envy the one payer Canadian system, and tell me so personally. They envy the universality of it, the access to medical care, the choice of doctors, and the affordability, as well as the overall results... Canadians live longer.
Normstad, we have the pleasure of years of posting history here to wipe away your pathetic response that Canadians aren’t worked up over this. Boldly lying certainly seems to be a habit of yours.
Let me break this down for you:
Canadians have one form of health coverage. Americans have another. These systems both work great for some and not so great for others. Canadians are not an authority on American healthcare, and Americans are not authorities on Canadian healthcare. Neither country has a unified citizenry that is morally superior to the other.
This *should* be the beginning and end of the topic. But it never is because Canadians can’t tolerate ANY criticism of anything Canadian ... even though they themselves make extremely free to come to American Internet forums (like City Data) and criticize the crap out of All Things American. And make no mistake ... City Data is an American website, created to discuss United States issues. Don’t believe me? Read the front page of the website:
Welcome to City-Data By collecting and analyzing data from a variety of government and private sources, we're able to create detailed, informative profiles for every city in the United States. From crime rates to weather patterns, you’ll find the data you're looking for on City-Data.com.
What hyperbolic? 80 million Americans just voted for communism. Didn’t you follow the news?
Don’t you have access to a dictionary?
Communism: a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.
Which American candidate was advocating that all property be publicly owned? Links please.

President elect Biden and Vice President Sugar Baby Harris.
Off topic. This is my last answer on this off topic post.
Who freaking cares? We are talking about an inanimate object, not someone’s grandparents, or child.
That Canadians get so worked up over discussion of their healthcare systems is both odd and laughable. Such delicate little flowers.
Yet you still cannot come to grips these threads, where you accuse Canadians of getting all worked up, are started by Americans most often for the sole purpose of disparaging Canada. Usually with utter nonsense or outright falsehoods.
It really is simpler than you surmise, tell YOUR delicate little flowers to resist assuaging their feelings of inadequacy by starting threads for that purpose of disparaging other countries with ill disguised angst over their superior freedoms and healthcare and you'll likely not get push-back from their citizens. In the meantime; ownership of a PUBLIC FORUM is irrelevant. That's the very nature of the word "public", with nowhere in the terms of service even mentioning "for the exclusive use of Americans to bash others."
If I as a Canadian were to START and TITLE a thread for the sole purpose of disparaging the entire U.S. using a cherry picked item; wouldn't you suggest it being within reasonable bounds and published terms of service to respond however you might choose to? I would.

Nobody disparages Canadians here. Well, I do ... a little bit. But generally, nobody disparages Canadians. We may push back on Canadian style healthcare, but nobody is saying rude things about Canadians here.
Your fragile national self-esteem prevents you from realizing that healthcare is an inanimate object. You spend thousands of minutes and words defending an inanimate object. That’s on you. And healthcare is just your opening song. From there you could spend an entire day criticizing America, and in fact you do ... regularly.
But God forbid someone mention Canadian healthcare. Ole Two Guns BruSan shall arrive to fight you to the death if you do!
