In the US, states, localities, with very high gun ownership rates, have basically very little gun crime.

Yes, 19 year old Brandon Scott Hole. No race mentioned. Also confusion in regards to the weapon used. One witness reported it as a "sub-machine gun or automatic rifle" while another said it was an "AR".
At one point in the initial police dispatch audio, which you can listen to later in this article, dispatchers said the suspect was described as a “white male wearing a hat” or hoodie and carrying a rifle type weapon.

So, the point is, it is not the gun...
Montana, Wyoming and Alaska have the highest gun ownership rates. All three are relatively low population rural states.
