What exactly do you expect the US to do about mental health? Be specific, please.
First off, start addressing that it is an issue, not black semi auto rifles and pistol braces. Next, start addressing the inner city violence, which seems to be swept under the rug on a national level.

Those would be a good start, and actually get both sides communicating and working towards a solution.

Joe Biden wants to address with gun restrictions on the type of weapon and the mental health of the gun buyer. Most don’t agree.
What would you do?
Do you think it isn’t a big deal and we should leave things as is?
murder is always a big deal.

but what law would have changed the outcome? Why do you always look for a government solution?

We will always have murder. We will always have drunk driving deaths. We will always have vehicular homicide.

There are a few hundred deaths of this type every year out of a county of 333 million. What exactly can the government do to proactively predict the future as to when a nutcase like this will freak out?

No. Some individuals will be unable to control themselves and will try to politicize this tragedy. And sane people need to say "no" to that. The focus when tragedies occur always needs to be on getting through this, helping others, and hopefully preventing future tragedies.

Maybe that is the smart thing to do. It seems these come in bunches possibly being encouraged by media coverage.

Well, if by "some individuals," you mean MOST MAJOR ELECTED DEMOCRATS IN WASHINGTON DC, then I agree with you.

Did he? I recall some Democrats did no diff than how some Republicans blame Biden as they did during Obama’s terms.

Some people blame throw when there is no other alternative. You seem to be one of them.

What exactly could/ should Biden do? Be specific, please.

There are more guns than people in the US. This ship sailed a long, long time ago.

What do Guatemala, Mexico and the US have in common?

These are the 3 countries that grant a constitutional right for people to bear arms.

Some people advocate for the elimination of background checks, licensing and permits.

Dozens?

According to CDC/ FBI there were 14,424 gun homicides in the US in 2019.
In 1993 there were 18,253 which dropped to 10,801 in 2000.

FBI identifies a mass shooting as an event with 3 or more victims.

The higher the body count, the more likely the mass shooting will receive some national attention especially when there is no known connection between the shooter and victims.

I saw the news alert on my phone in the middle of the night and assumed it would be wall to wall coverage first thing this morning.

It's not.

It's strange.
