You would never know it by the accolades so many seem to give it. And yes, my comment was tongue in cheek. I wished for Americans that they could find a path forward that all were covered under a universal healthcare plan, and that however it was decided to fund that, whether through taxes or premiums, that it actually be affordable.

It will never happen. We are fortunate because my husband belongs to a union that pays for our healthcare.

That' cool. But it's still a strawman. Study of the various UHC systems functioning around the world demonstrate the nonsense of it. It is a strawman many Americans appear unprepared to move beyond.

That is why Ralph Nader wants Medicare For All with no private insurance companies allowed to participate in it. I sure wouldn't be opposed to it. However, I won't be shocked and surprised if Medicare For All actually comes about that private health insurance companies will be allowed in on it.
