The reality is that China has gained a lot of brownie points around the world recently with countries desperate for vaccines.

Article dated March 1:

Chinese vaccines sweep much of the world
Quote:
China’s vaccine diplomacy campaign has been a surprising success: It has pledged roughly half a billion doses of its vaccines to more than 45 countries, according to a country-by-country tally by The Associated Press. With just four of China’s many vaccine makers claiming they are able to produce at least 2.6 billion doses this year, a large part of the world’s population will end up inoculated not with the fancy Western vaccines boasting headline-grabbing efficacy rates, but with China’s humble, traditionally made shots.
The U.S. recently pledged 80 million doses, none of which have been delivered.

Another article, dated May 28:

South Asia Turns to China for COVID Vaccines after India Halts Exports
Quote:
South Asian countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are turning to China for vaccines for Covid 19 after India suspended vaccine exports due to critical shortages at home. Analysts say this will help Beijing increase its clout in the strategic Indian Ocean region where it has been building influence.
Quote:
“The fact that Chinese are able to help countries at this point will go a long way in shaping those countries memories and remembrances of what happened at a very critical phase in global history,”

You assume they think and operate just like us, all propaganda but business as usual. They do not. China has already been moving away from the US dollar in recent years. They are securing ties in the rest of the world, and forming alliance with Russia, and building up their military.

No propaganda against the US. In fact they shield the people from American attacks. The Chinese masses don't know how much some Americans dislike them. If they knew, there would be protests against American brands, social unrest, and their leaders don't want that.

The point is that, apparently, a US organization got a federal government grant, which it passed off to another organization which then handed it off to another organization and the head of that research facility cited a conflict of interest and passed it off to an organization working with the Wuhan lab.

Very clearly, there is a problem with the statutes.

If the federal government is giving my tax dollars to an organization to do one thing, and that organization hands my tax dollars off to another entity that is doing something entirely different, that is a problem.

So, the statute must be amended so that if the government gives my tax dollars to an entity in the form of a grant, it must be used for the express stated purpose, or returned to the government.

Your government went to extraordinary lengths to discover the cause of Spanish Flu, and it did so forensically in the 1980s and 1990s long after Spanish Flu had disappeared.

The best evidence indicates it originated from bird droppings, you know, feces.

Why would the government not do the same for STUPID-19?

It is only by discovering the true source that future outbreaks of diseases might be prevented.

That's called being proactive, which is much better than being reactive.

Spoken like someone ignorant of Asia.

Who on this forum would like to know why 400+ languages are spoken in China?

It's because there are 400+ cultures.

When you say "China" you are actually referring to an ethnic group known as the Han Chinese which is just one of the 400+ (but aren't educated enough to understand that).

The altruistic reasons would be:

1. to prevent outbreaks of similar viral infections;
2. to gain an increased understanding of all corona virus, and as I have repeatedly pointed out, there are a variety of corona virus including the two variants that cause the common cold, a variant that causes viral bronchitis and results in adult asthma, and several others that cause upper respiratory infections just like influenza and adenovirus and respiratory synctical virus;
3. to gain an understanding of virus in general, because there are 7 different types of virus based on the way the function/replicate.

I can think of other altruistic reasons, but I would hope you get the point.

3.7 Million....out of 7.8 Billion.

Let's see.....

3.7 Million / 7.8 Billion = 0.04744%

I guess it's a good thing 0.05% didn't die or you'd have gone into a total melt-down.

In stark contrast, 7% of Americans die from drowning each year meaning 14x as many drown as die from STUPID-19.

Reparations after WW1 then led to WW2.

My point is the only way for China to get $25T is from us.

Mircea,
I think your math is a little off. About 0.0001% of Americans die from drowning each year.

From several sources:

Quote:
In the US, an average of 3,500 to 4,000 people drown per year.

China is not going to allow any investigation, we may at some point discover the source in the future but right now China is not going to cooperate.

It was an attack, therefore it's not a question of leader competence.
It's great to use unknown sources circulating on the internet to come to conclusions.

China locked people in their homes, they had a real shutdown and we did not.

This entire conspiracy is just to prove Trump and Peter Navarro right regarding their bio-weapon claims.

You do think that the world should be hammering them for cooperation, right?

Regardless of them resisting. Im disappointed at the very lackluster approach our government is taking on this.
