Story is out today that China genetically engineered mice with human lung tissues to see what virus combination would infect them, then used that sequence to splice into dangerous viruses so they would spread faster
Apart from the fact that we have similar situations with American labs - what exactly is the point? Whether the virus escaped from the Wuhan lab, or whether it originated from a pangolin in a wet market, while it would be nice to know, what difference would it make politically? Even if it's from the lab, it was still an accident, and even if it weren't, it's not as if we're going to ban all Chinese products to retaliate.
What a stupid question to ask. If it is discovered to be as suspected, the WORLD needs to sanction and penalize China to the tune of Trillions of $$$

It is unreal how the liberal/leftist mind works.
I suspect that if a Democrat president was destine to win and a virus might have been purposely released to help tank the American economy and thereby cause said Democrat to lose, you would not be so laissez-faire about it.
Leftists want to make America out to be some evil country, yet give the communist Chinese with actual evil governance a pass.
I am old enough to remember how leftists gave the former Soviet Union and other Marxist/communist/socialist governments a pass, all the while condemning America, especially when a (R) was the president.
Frankly it is sickening, and what caused many a moderate to right leaning Democrat to leave the party. Now their so called moderates would have been considered radicals not all that long ago. The inmates have definitely taken over the asylum.
But lets forget about American politics and just look at this from a global perspective. If the Chinese military is developing biological weapons (to presumably be used against other countries people in the future) everyone should condemn them, and bring them to their knees.
Allowing them to get away with it (purposefully or accidently) is unacceptable considering the human and economic damage done to the globe, not just America.
Heck some on the left want to give all black people reparations for something that happened over 150 years ago, in primarily just one part of this country.
Yet they want to have attitudes like yours who say no big deal to the millions of dead and destruction of many countries economies, and instead lets just move on.

I'm gobsmacked that you would ask this question.
I couldn't give one rip on this politically. We had a worldwide pandemic that costs millions of lives, trillions of dollars untold amounts of pain, misery, and despair across the whole planet.
When you have a world wide event like this you examine this from every angle, you investigate it, you retrace every step, you do everything in your power in a scientific fully documented way to prevent this from ever happening again.
Do you have a clue how much time, energy, and meticulous investigation occurs when a commercial airplane goes down and people die? Thousands of man hours and very a meticulous investigation.
Why should we not do the same for something of a significant higher magnitude worldwide event occurs?
We don't just go meh, F it, who cares if it came from a lab or a fish market, why bother trying to figure it out. Let's just wait and see if we get another one.

When new evidence emerges that counters the liberal agenda/plan, the spin becomes "What difference does it really make if the lab was the source?" They are so desperate to keep the truth from Americans and not offend the Chinese. To many Americans, the media and the Fauci/NIH/State Dept. mafia could be tried for crimes, including treason against our country.
It’s a harmless virus anyway right? Whether it’s a natural occurrence, escaped from a lab, or a crappy bio-weapon, it’s just China's incompetence on display.

As to us, if you mean literal war (short of a nuclear war which hopefully MAD would prevent), we are still the most powerful country militarily.

If you think the world would be united against China, you’re being very naive and unaware about the influence China has gained around the world with its investments and trade. China doesn’t even hide the blackmail any more. Say anything China doesn’t like and the country suffers financial consequences… and China stops providing the country with vaccines.
