Apart from the fact that we have similar situations with American labs - what exactly is the point? Whether the virus escaped from the Wuhan lab, or whether it originated from a pangolin in a wet market, while it would be nice to know, what difference would it make politically? Even if it's from the lab, it was still an accident, and even if it weren't, it's not as if we're going to ban all Chinese products to retaliate.

When it comes to holding China accountable, pretty much nothing. We cannot do anything to China, however it probably p*ss off a lot of countries to know that this virus was caused by a lab in China. Geopolitics is there.
But, I don't care about China. We had our scientists lie and run cover for China and that lab -like Fauci. We need to get to the bottom of that, perhaps there is some of our guys who need to be held down and injected with Sars-Cov-2.
Giving China's track record on human rights violations, and their blatant disrespect for the United States, I think it is plausible that it was intentionally leaked as a bioweapon. I don't think we will ever know.

Because when you kill millions of humans, no one should be able to discuss it...unless white supremacy is to blame.
If caused by negligence on China's part, either in the origin, or the cover up of it.... then China needs to pay a high punitive tariff for the next 40 years.
I'm more interested in if Fauci knew and covered it up, and whether he funded the research via middlemen. I like transparency. When people start distrusting their leaders they start believing conspiracy theories. Had they been more upfront from the start maybe people wouldn't be so reluctant to take the vaccines. Nah... there has always been a vocal anti-vaccine crowd even before covid. Honestly you are right OP, it's done and it doesn't matter that much.

Read the leaked emails, he knew. It was brought to his attention in January that the sequences of RNA showed signs of engineering.
