A 2020 Pew Research study reveals that over half of white, liberal women have been diagnosed with a mental health condition at some point. Does this mean there's a correlation between progressive ideas and mental health?
t’s a common tactic of the politically charged on either side (and normally perceived as a cheap one at that) to take the particular adherents of an ideology and equate that diehard worship to mental illness.
But what if what was once a cheap shot or a personal insult has actually been found to bear scientific correlation between the individuals who hold progressive ideologies and an increased risk of mental illness?

Reason: coyright violations, too long
This isn't surprising at all.
Those white liberal women are the same type of women who become barren pigeon feeders or cat hoarders by the time they get into their 50's. No man wants to be around deranged, crazy women.
Isn't liberalism, in of itself, basically a mental health issue these days though?

Some men claim to have a preference for crazy women. Those men usually aren't treated very well by crazy women though.

Far left liberalism is. I have met self proclaimed liberal folks who can have a rational honest conversation about social issues without curse words or yelling. Just like the far right, it goes both ways.
Women, in general, are far more likely to be diagnosed with a mental health condition than men for a variety of reasons. More likely to be victims of violence, dealing with pregnancy and postpartum hormones, etc. Plus women go to the doctor much more than men. There is still a stigma when it comes to mental health care, and men in particular don't want to be labeled as weak or not in control.
Women are also more likely to be liberal. Not sure that really implies any type of causation.
Though my guess is that liberals, in general, tend to be well-educated and therefore are more likely to have the knowledge and resources to see a medical provider about their anxiety and depression.
I will say that the posts I see on here about Trump being ready to swoop in and take back the presidency any second, about wanting to go to war against the government with their stockpile of AK-47s, about thinking there are microchips in vaccines... those strike me as utterly insane and I highly doubt these folks are off seeking mental health care. I also don't tend to think they're liberal.

Yes, I've met rational liberal folks. Some of my best friends are liberals in fact. Many of them are quite successful. But they seem to be the exception these days. I try to avoid discussing politics at all costs. You don't have to agree with someone's world view to be their friend.
Going back to when I was a young San Francisco lib myself, we made jokes about the stereotypical “angry purple-haired hyper-liberal chicks”. Heck, I worked with many of them. I believed then as I do now that there is a correlation between people who are wounded souls, always taking on the fights of other wounded souls. They thrive on heartache and unhappiness but seamlessly transition from one cause to another, literally marinating in every tear of every disenfranchised person they encounter.
It sounds selfless and caring but it isn’t. It’s mental illness.

I am in the Austin area, which in Texas terminology is the stepchild of Texas, mini-California. I have only met one really crazy liberal in my ten months living here. I have met some really nice Democrats and we hang out and do things.
