True, and similar to gun rights, there are people that actually believe this "issue" is important. Whatever your stand on abortion may be, this is just a diversion. The only topic that matters is the preservation of our Constitution and the rule of law, which has been under continuous attack from the authoritarian Right for a long time. If the next coup succeeds, and America goes under the boot of Trump or his successor, we will look back fondly at the days when we could argue about abortion and gun rights and so on.

Lol, there is far more lawlessness on the left. Does BLM, ANTIFA and a massive mess on our border up to including Biden and the Democrats allowing hundreds of thousands of unvetted illegal aliens and bogus asylum seekers into our country and wanting to reward them with amnesty equate to respect for the rule of law? I don't think so! Does one incident on the right even compare to all of the above especially when only "some" who marched to the Capital building got out of control? I don't think so!

I see Mississippi prevailing here easily, which would be a win for the Constitution and for innocent life.

Abortion will continue regardless of the out come, poor women will lose and republicans will celebrate. Middle class women will be unaffected. RvW was passed 7-2 with in 1973 but now they have the dream court set up for Clarence Thomas.

Sure, it'll continue. But more restrictions on abortions means fewer abortions in the grand scheme of things as not everyone can or will travel elsewhere where it is legal or will otherwise try to terminate life on their own.

Poor women will lose? I call a chance for life for the defenseless unborn--half of whom are women--a win in my book My ancestors were dirt poor in this country post-slavery and during Jim Crow. I thank God that my "poor" female ancestors weren't readily able to have abortions on demand and that our communities were allowed to grow.

Edited to add: ultimately, regardless of the policy reasons for and against abortion, I argue that there is no constitutional right to an abortion. That is completely judge-made law.

lolol.

Scary thing is, somebody has got a bunch of the LWNJ's believing this.

Is it not Omar who has suggested re-writing the Constitution?
Is it not the "authoritarian" left state & local governments, and Biden, who have instituted restrictions and mandates?

No woman in America should be forced to remain pregnant against her own wishes. Nor should she be forced to gestate, labor and deliver against her own wishes. Nor should she have to be a parent for 18 years against her wishes or give a child up for adoption. Not your business what a woman you don’t know does with her reproduction.

In the vast majority of cases, they're not. In 99.67% of pregnancies (rape or incest account for 0.33% of all pregnancies), women WILLINGLY participate in an act in which they know pregnancy is a possible outcome. They are CHOOSING to participate in that activity fully knowing that a pregnancy may result. No one has forced them against their will to participate in an activity that has pregnancy as a KNOWN possible outcome. Stop spreading your abhorrently misogynistic belief that women are too stupid to know what they're doing.

So what ? The details of her pregnancy is also none of your business. Stop spreading shame on women because they had consensual sex. it’s truly misogynistic.
