THis is no longer true, anyone who gets to their DR. in early stage can have this treatment now.

The treatment is available without a script I believe or at least that's what they're trying to do.

It's in low supply and not widely available for everyone so only high-risk patients are allowed to get it. 65 and over is allowed but the pre-existing conditions can vary. Some hospitals are more lenient than others. Such as specific BMI might vary....over 40 BMI at some hospitals and lower BMI at others.

I suppose people that refused the vaccine because it wasn't tested long enough - would also refuse antibody treatment because these treatments were tested for a shorter period of time than the vaccine.

Would be nice if antibody treatment was available so that anyone could get it if they are within the correct#days of getting Covid to qualify, but not turned away for being 50 with no pre existing conditions, for example.
This is outdated information.

The criteria has been greatly broadened.

Here is a link that describes the criteria for getting it.

https://www.covid19treatmentguidelin...al-antibodies/

Basically anyone over age 12 who has high risk as determined by your doctor can get it.

I also don't think there is currently a shortage. Hospitals have been slow to use this therapy because it's time/labor intensive. It's a two hour process.....1 hour for monitored IV infusion and 1 hour for monitoring following the infusion plus whatever set up/clean up time between patients.

Some hospitals have now set up space in their hospitals to provide the treatment or have set up outpatient offices or partnered with existing facilities to deliver the treatment because it virtually eliminates hospitalizations if given early.

People who might want to avail themselves of this treatment should talk to their doctors or local hospitals about where they can get it because you need to act quickly once you have symptoms or a positive test result.

Desantis is in trouble. As a poster in this feed pointed out "Ron keeps this up he won’t win Florida when he runs for President."

No everyone in Florida can get monoclonal antibody treatment. Age 65 and above or below high risk factors qualify for the treatment.

https://www.clickorlando.com/news/lo...ment-facility/

It is an infused medication that can reduce COVID symptoms in patients who are at high risk.
It’s really meant for people who are at risk for developing the complications, so it’s not just for absolutely anybody. It’s meant for those people who have risk factors who are likely to end up in the hospital or intensive care” . high-risk factors include being overweight or obese, hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, a weakened immune system, chronic kidney disease and other conditions that put you at high risk.

Nobody is stopping anyone from wearing masks....can you people not grasp this?

Sit alone at a park bench in Miami summer heat in August at 4pm with a mask on, to your heart's content.
