It appears advocates for masks and lockdowns are claiming Florida was either committing murder or suicide; choose your favorite metaphor... while in fact Florida is doing it's best to deal with this pandemic is a strategic way.

I know it's hard to grasp how complex things are when the prism you see the world through is, without color, form or functionality. Reality is truth and that is how Gov. DeSantis see things... in color.

Difficult concept for Biden's buddies.

So your idea of science and intelligence is to ignore the advice of the CDC and the world's best epidemiologists in favor of listening to a politician. Your projection is simply breathtaking.

DeSantis and Crist even in polls as coronavirus cases surge-

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaig...19-cases-surge

Crist is easy to mock because he has this weird need for approval from others but I do think his work in property insurance reform in the state during his time as governor should get a lot more credit than it does. (You're never going to 'fix' the insurance situation down here, but he bought the state another years of it being semi-functional)

The CDC has clearly integrated politics with science and therefore is corrupt science. Who doesn't know this now?

The CDC's job is about diseases. The CDC clearly doesn't understand how society MUST integrate the necessity of a functioning economy to survive. Pandemic recovery and control MUST be strategic and include ALL aspects of society. Gov. DeSantis is doing that and leading the way.

Your obtuseness is over whelming

Governor Ron DeSantis held a public health roundtable with renowned doctors and epidemiologists to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following individuals participated in the roundtable with Governor DeSantis:

Sunetra Gupta, epidemiologist and professor of theoretical epidemiology, Oxford University
Dr. Scott W. Atlas, MD, Robert Wesson Senior Fellow in health care policy at the Hoover Institution of Stanford University
Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, professor of medicine at Stanford University and research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research
Dr. Martin Kulldorff, PhD, biostatistician, epidemiologist, and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School
Topics discussed included lockdowns, non-pharmaceutical interventions, mask mandates, school closures, vaccinations, the failure of models, and a wide array of other subjects regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

“While Florida has been vilified in the corporate media for much of the past year, the data could not be clearer that our state has fared far better than many others, particularly those that imposed harsh lockdowns on their residents,” said Governor DeSantis. “Lockdowns, school closures, and government mandates have crippled economies, harmed our students and prevented Americans from enjoying their God-given rights across our entire county. Florida has taken a different approach and as a result, our state thrives while others decline.”

The delta variant is highly contagious and less virulent strain, this go round. Florida is experiencing a surge (happening now) and in the fall this will happen as folks move inside during cooler weather. Say what you will, continue to get your talking points from the corporate media, but the final conclusions will be data driven.

I've lost all respect for Faucci

desantis is awesome.

DESANTIS TO BIDEN: “Why don’t you do your job? Why don't you get this border secure? And until you do that, I don’t wanna hear a blip about COVID from you, thank you.”

What a line-up:

Gupta: Gupta is a critic of the lockdown approach to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ref:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunetra_Gupta

Atlas: Atlas, a radiologist, is not a specialist in public health or infectious diseases.[29][30][31] He reportedly caught Trump's eye because of his frequent appearances on Fox News that summer.[32] A radiologist and a Fox news commentator approved by Trump... Ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Atlas

Bhattacharya: Bhattacharya and the two other researchers called on governments to overturn their coronavirus strategies , Same mindset at Gupta...Ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jay_Bhattacharya

Kulldorff: Kulldorff is one of the three authors, along with Sunetra Gupta and Jay Bhattacharya, of the early October 2020 Great Barrington Declaration. Ref: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Kulldorff

So he put together a team of all the nay sayers who's theory goes against the world wide scientific community. Their document "scientists have criticized the Declaration, saying its claims are implausible, including that herd immunity would occur in a timely enough fashion to be impactful, and that focused protection emphasizing primarily the most vulnerable populations would be insufficient" Ref:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_Kulldorff

And you wonder why "Florida has been vilified in the corporate media for much of the past year," when this is " public health roundtable" held with the right wing quacks that are rejected by mostly everyone... DeSantos is just talking points thinking he will be the next GOP candidate for President

So his answer is literal whataboutism?

He certainly thinks he's awesome. What he actually is is a man who gets angry with questions way too quickly if he feels as though he's being criticized. Instead of talking about something else he could have pointed to the low fatality rate in Florida, the extremely well run tiered outlay of the vaccine in Florida and it's wide availability, but he chose to play to his base and criticize Biden for an easy win. I mean I understand it, when your back is against the wall, but I expect better from a potential presidential candidate.

While the numbers can't be denied, the (admittedly locally observed) reality is hospitals are admitting anyone who has covid, even if the hospitalization is unnecessary. Why? there's money to be made from the government.

Clearly this is anecdotal nationwide, but true locally. Paramedics are doing the transports and as a result, are putting society at a higher risk regarding life and death situations.

The collateral affect of media fear.
