To win over the Republicans, Biden should have said, "I take no responsibility." .... Like the last guy.

Oh well, missed opportunity.

I dislike him because of who he is. And no, I don't respect people based on platitudes.

Words are meaningless. You can't be called a leader when you fail in action.

Dreaming.^

Great speech by Biden.
This as the GOP has removed all their praise on Trump's agreement to leave.

We all know Biden is right on this one.

I have no idea what the previous administration's plan was, do you?

Being that it's the Pentagon folks that would actually formulate this plan, and the folks in that building are very much the same now as they were in Feb 2020 - why would you assume the current plan is different from the plan under the past administration?

this is akin to

"Well, 'Trump' made the deal, so I'll just blame it on him. As long as the rest of the Americans get out without dying, who cares about the Afghanis - allies, those who worked for us, or any of them"

Nobody wants the US to stay there, that's not the issue. It's how we're leaving, we look like some third world country running with our tails between our legs while a group of insurgents has us n the run. We have a feckless leader who can't organize a 2 car funeral. This is amateur hour Biden. Nobody will forget this. Nobody will respect us, we look like cowards.

He was powerful. He was decisive. He was a leader.

The war in Afghanistan has no resolution. We all know it. President Biden made the executive decision to exit the war as he promised in the campaign, a war that went on 20 years too long. He vowed to extricate our brave men and women from a 20-year civil conflict and he kept his promise.

He knows his decision will be criticized. He knows the decision was far from perfect. But he is the leader of the United States and he promised to deliver our troops from the Afghan’s civil conflict. He did.

It is so nice to actually hear a leader who will take responsibility for his actions. Love him or hate him, agree with his decision or not, he is our President and today he showed us the kind of leadership that was missing in the last administration.

What a breath of fresh air for America.

Excellent speech Mr. President.
Hahahahahahaha,,,the bucks stops with Biden. Let's see his diplomacy as women are raped and the men are slaughtered. Biden is a joke. Also every other country sees what a weak leader Biden is. This will end badly and will create numerous other problems. I know you are a Biden fan and will say anything to defend him. However he is a DISASTER!!!!!!

To take responsibility for a foreign policy failure like this would be to resign.

Americans are asking "Why Donald Trump didn't pull out of Afghanistan when he occupied the White House?"
