Actions speak louder than words, yes. And Biden is the one to end our military presence in Afghanistan.
He pulled off the bandaid and let a large artery flow fee.

Because of his terrible exit strategy, we wasted twenty years there and the Taliban is stronger and more powerful today than they were when we arrived.

Meanwhile, girls as young as 12 are being taken from their homes and forced to marry these guys who have no respect at all for women. People are being murdered for assisting the US. Many were left behind to be killed and raped. We even left a lot of helicopters and other gear for the Taliban to keep.

But, hey, great speech!

I am waiting for ISIS to make its comeback and take over Syria, and Iraq. All of it too.

Well, nothing's stopping these so called allies from sending their own troops to stop this. So until they have any kind of money or skin in this, then they need to shut the hell up!

How Biden went his own way on Afghanistan withdrawal -CNN

President Joe Biden ordered the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan over the advice of some of his senior-most advisers in the Pentagon and State Department, leaders who are now charged with carrying out the particulars of the complicated drawdown.

Multiple current and former officials tell CNN that those advisers – including Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley, leader of US Central Command Gen. Frank McKenzie and some State Department officials – expressed concerns about what a full withdrawal might mean for the US counter-terror mission. They also expressed concern about the security of US diplomats based there.

Going back to the previous administration, when President Donald Trump was also considering a withdrawal, US military leaders set a floor of some 2,500 US troops to provide counter-terror support and diplomatic security.

Biden pulled out the intel advisors, counter-terror support and diplomatic security and drew down other assets that made it impossible to protect and ensure a controlled and orderly withdrawal. Biden even banned the civilian contractors who were the only ones keeping the Afghan air force flying. You wondered why maybe, that there was no air-ground support, and the Taliban were able to leisurely stroll into any city they cared to enter? Wonder no more.

I am glad Mr Biden is shouldering that responsibility as the leader of our great nation. It was a decision none of his predecessors could make. It was a difficult decision and he will take heat for it. But he will take the heat for our brave men and women serving in the region.

Thank you Mr. President.
Seriously? He was in the Administration for 9 of the last 12 years and even voted to go to Afghanistan. What responsibility is he shouldering?? Letting it fall and cause WWIII.

Surrendering to terrorist is not leadership. Putting a US Embassy in Jerusalem and declaring it the capital IS leadership.

He was powerful. He was decisive. He was a leader.

The war in Afghanistan has no resolution. We all know it. President Biden made the executive decision to exit the war as he promised in the campaign, a war that went on 20 years too long. He vowed to extricate our brave men and women from a 20-year civil conflict and he kept his promise.

He knows his decision will be criticized. He knows the decision was far from perfect. But he is the leader of the United States and he promised to deliver our troops from the Afghan’s civil conflict. He did.

It is so nice to actually hear a leader who will take responsibility for his actions. Love him or hate him, agree with his decision or not, he is our President and today he showed us the kind of leadership that was missing in the last administration.

What a breath of fresh air for America.

Excellent speech Mr. President.

LMFAOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!! Man, I don't even know where to begin with this joke of a post. First of all, anyone can give a great speech. Words mean NOTHING unless they're put to action. Obama gave fantastic speeches and yet he gave us 8 years of nothing. Biden shouldn't even have had to made this speech had he done it the right way. The bottom line is Trump had a better plan in place. To start SLOWLY removing troops in May of this year and slowly dwindle down the amount of troops needed. We also weren't going to be so chatty about final dates.

Then along comes Biden, who like with everything else, had to scrap a solid plan because he hates the color orange, and needed to do it his way. So he pushes the date back yet announces it to the entire world giving the Taliban MONTHS to prepare for this. Then both Biden and our wonderful Generals like that clown Milley, just allowed our troops to leave all sorts of military equipment behind in multiple cities, allowing the Taliban to strengthen their army. Then comes the icing on the cake: Biden reassuring all of us that a takeover wouldn't happen.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it did!!!! Now a Taliban leader is Afghanistan's president, innocent people are being slaughtered, and 20 years of war and restoration was all for nothing. Gone, in a matter of days. This should've never happened, and your "wonderful President" allowed it to happen.

Sorry, but Biden is failure, and this moment definitely solidified that even more.

Apparently most of the mainstream media including CNN does not agree with you. As Jake Tapper is pointing out right now, Biden kept trying to change the subject on the bungled execution of the withdrawal. Very poor and very inept planning is how it is being described. In fact most of the CNN panel said he failed to address those important questions as they were hoping he would. Almost nobody disagrees the withdrawal, it's how Biden and his administration handled it.

As one of Obama's former staff members described today, he has serious questions about Biden's ability to lead the country.

You know who inspired a LOT of people with his speeches? Hitler.

Nah, I'll go with action every time.
