He did what the American public wanted him to do. If the Fox News/talk radio base is dishonest enough to now say they wanted us to stay when Trump himself said we were pulling out, I don't know how much more full of excrement you can possibly be.
I have problems with the administrations wokeness...I don't have a problem with this move. It sucks that some people whose lives improved from US involvement are going to suffer now, but unfortunately too many people there want to live in the stone ages, and we can't force them to change their minds.
It is so nice to actually hear a leader who will take responsibility for his actions.
So, exactly what responsibility did Biden take for the bungled evacuation? (I say "bungled" because it's hard to call any evacuation that includes people falling from planes a smash success.) What concrete actions will Biden take to address the mistakes made and correct them? (To the extent that any mistakes can be corrected at this point.)
So.. Whats everyone's idea that would have worked better? Wait another 20 years for a new group of Afghan Security forces to get trained? Build a permanent base there and trillions more spent with your tax dollars?
Are you unaware of the chaos that is happening in Kabul right now? Any concern for the women and young girls? The people who will be murdered for helping the Americans because we left them behind? Any concern that we left a lot of very useful military equipment for the Taliban to keep and use?
The entire world has sympathy for the women and children and every oppressed Afghan trapped in that country. But the difficult truth you cannot admit is that we cannot evacuate all the men, women, and children from that country.
As President Biden said, there will be no “just a few more years” under his watch. The people of Afghanistan have to figure it out, as painful as it is to watch.
Whether you love President Biden or you hate him because he beat the other guy, you have to respect that speech he gave.
He was powerful. He was decisive. He was a leader.
The war in Afghanistan has no resolution. We all know it. President Biden made the executive decision to exit the war as he promised in the campaign, a war that went on 20 years too long. He vowed to extricate our brave men and women from a 20-year civil conflict and he kept his promise.
He knows his decision will be criticized. He knows the decision was far from perfect. But he is the leader of the United States and he promised to deliver our troops from the Afghan’s civil conflict. He did.
It is so nice to actually hear a leader who will take responsibility for his actions. Love him or hate him, agree with his decision or not, he is our President and today he showed us the kind of leadership that was missing in the last administration.
What a breath of fresh air for America.

Wasting years and lives was inevitable from Day One. Wasting years and lives only would have been prevented by never invading Afghanistan in the first place. GWB went in without an exit strategy, and in 20 years no administration could come up with one that would have a positive outcome for the US. So here we are.
